Great product!
I purchased this for my daughter who is going to college this fall. She loves to sing, but she was afraid of disturbing her roommate, so she asked for this. We just tested it, and it definitely works! We are very happy with this! Worth every penny we paid for it!

Effective and Ergonomic
The level of sound damping is wonderfully substantial; my friend, a professional operatic tenor, ripped his high Cs into the product, and all that came through was a muffle quieter than the TV. A few important pros to note:The opening is flexible and moves with your mouth. There is no leakage when you open tall, even when using the head strap. The device is light. Usage and portability are a breeze, especially given the compact size. There is no resistance on the exhale. You feel no pressure difference singing into this than singing without it.Allowing the nose to be outside the muffling area is actually quite effective at showing you where you become nasal. Nasal sounds that end up becoming noticeably louder because they don't exit the mouth and into the product.I will say that if you use the included strap, you do look like you're wearing a BDSM device. But most vocalists I know are masochists in one way or another, so I suppose it simply caters to the demographic.

Quite well for a screaming stress reliever and singing
I use it for singing in my apartment. I works quite well reducing the volume by around 60%. I also use it as a scream box to relieve stress LOL. All in all works pretty well only that it quite obstructs the air flow and put the air pressure back to back side of your jaws giving you slight pain if you know what I mean.

Great for apartments
AMAZING. Works very well. Takes a while to get use to but is a comfortable way to sing without bothering everyone around you. It doesn't 100% kill the noise but it does take it down to around 35% of the sound. As someone who lives in an NYC apartment, this was a great investment.

Updated model is great!
I avoided the original model that covered the nose. I love the updated model that just fits over the mouth—more natural for singing. The material is soft and flexible and is comfortable to use. (I don’t use the head strap.) I need to practice high notes in my apartment and I’m very satisfied with this product!

Absolute MUST for performers!
Such a simple device that makes life easier as a singer! Sing in the shower, in the bedroom, early morning, late night. Practice whenever, wherever you want! Impressive how handy this is. For a college kids, with a vocal major, you can't be without one.

Quality
Why did you pick this product vs others?:It’s ok but I would definitely recommend the cheaper version.

I wish it were larger.
This is a useful device for vocalists who desire privacy while singing. It doesn't work as well as a sound room, so people will still be able to hear you. The sound is just slightly dampened. This is the newer, larger version of the Belt Box and it can only accommodate vocalists who don't open their mouths very much while they sing. As such, this device can be very limiting/restrictive for vocalists who sing with greater than average freedom.(I.e. Whitney Houston & Alanis Morissette would feel limited with this device, whereas, Bob Dylan would be fine.)
