Real Value for Money !
Traveling all over the world, and appreciating cultural differences are at best a nuissance, or complete chaos if not considered, the Culture Smart series provides valuable tips when working with other cultures. Paperback format, just the right content. Makes it ideal plane reading to yet another destination and culture, enabling me to do 'culture smart' - and thus sustainable - business.

Good background material
A little dated because it was published prior to Arab Spring, so it doesn't address recent history or the current political situation. But that was our only criticism. Excellent summary of the historic development of the country and the people. Perfect description of the culture and customs. We would give it 4-1/2 stars if that was an option. If you're planning a trip to Tunisia and want to focus on more than the magnificent ruins and mosaics, you should buy this book.

Travel book
A reasonable guide to Tunisia. A very practical approach to the country. gave me the background that I required for a novel I was writing.

Not a great book
I wish that the book has colors in the digital copy, and wish it had more images of the culture... maybe a map or two.

Disappointed
I was disappointed to see how little I got for the high price I had paid. I was expecting more.

Well worth a read to learn the history and how to be more local
Surprising little book and easy to read. Not so much a travel guide more a be a local guide. Doesn't give much in the way of tourist places to visit, but tells you a very good amount of the history of Tunisia which I found very good and local customs. Is clearly written by a man who travels alone, with the assumption that the reader is male and traveling alone. But I as a women still found it a very good read

Useful buts needs updating
Excellent synopsis of the history and culture of Tunisia with some advice which complements the Lonely Planet Guide. Small enough to fit in luggage so I will take it with me for reference. However, it needs updating! Why is the latest edition 2009 when a lot has changed in the country in the past 10 years. Come on Culture Smart; get on to it!

Different to other guide books
This useful pocket-sized paperback does include the usual advice for tourists on safety, transport, clothing, climate etc, however, much of the book covers the social and cultural reasons behind this advice. The book is focused on exploring and explaining Tunisia to interested travellers. It is packed with anecdotes and offers a brief introduction to traditions and customs shaping daily life.
