A Favorite, Despite Changes
I’ve used this beard balm for time and I love it. The size and scent have changed a bit. Lumber Yard isn’t as strong as it used to be, yet the quality remains top-notch. It keeps my beard soft, healthy, and looking great. A staple in my grooming kit! Recommend giving this beard balm a try.

They Changed (for worse)
Been using this exact beard balm for years. 3.6 ounces glass jars. Now all the sudden it’s a 2 ounces plastic jar for the same price. And they changed the formula to where it’s definitely not the same and smells bad now. I loved the old smell, they way it conditioned the hair and skin underneath, and the glass jars it came it. Now it’s time for me to shop the market again to find a new beard balm I like.

Beard Balm
Everything I order from Beard brand is excellent product. I wish they would offer the 4 plus oz size without a $8.99 shipping charge. I would order it because it is Temple Smoke smell.

Works great but smells awful
The product results are great, but my wife can't stand the odor (and I'm not a fan either).

Does it all, but a bit pricy
First off, I love how this stuff works for many applications. I bought it for my beard and have used it as a general face/arms moisturizer, but I’ve also started to use it to style my hair, and it works great in all situations. This one thing can replace 3 separate things effectively. Objectively, this stuff deserves the price tag it commands, it performs above average in a multitude of uses. Unfortunately that price tag is $10 an ounce. $20 for 2 ounces is a tough pill to swallow, but then I don’t think I would be able to find 3 separate products at less than $20 combined. It’s ultimately aiming for a more luxury focused market, and if a large fashion house were producing this, it would probably cost 3 times more. There is value for money happening here, even if the cost of that value commands a high price.

Not a fan
I've had a bigger beard for many years and used many different conditioners, creams & balms over that time. I'd never tried Beardbrand before but I needed some more balm and this one had a good price. Unfortunately, I tried this one once and it went into the trash. First off, it's much waxier than many of the others I've used. The product itself is not very well blended so it looks like little wax beads that you have to melt in your hands. I don't like overly waxy products as they tend to weigh down my beard and are also harder to wash out. This stuff also left a kind of residue on my hands after I washed them...that I ended up spreading around as I touched things. It did leave my beard very shiny but honestly, that's not something I'm really going for. But my big complaint is the smell. It's HIGHLY scented. And what they call "lumber yard" I would call "tar soaked rail road ties that were sold to me by a guy who smokes 2 packs a day." Upon opening the jar for the first time the smell hit me and I hesitated to even use this stuff. The top review for this balm describes it as "subtle but masculine" so maybe we got different batches and they accidentally dumped the ash tray in mine? Whatever the case, I didn't like the feel of it overall and the smell makes me not want to go out in public.
