It works for my microscope
This microscope camera works great once the USB stick software has been installed. The adapter tubes were not required for my 'vintage' metallurgical microscope. However, the camera software may start with a blank screen unless you take the camera back out of the eye tube so it can register the change in light. The focal point of the camera does not quite match the regular eye piece and the image size on screen is smaller than the view down the eye piece but that may be a squarer image imposed into the regular round view.

Quality and ease of usage
Buying this item as allowed me to view these microbs on my computer, easing the fatique of my eyes, an aid worth the money and easy to use, once the usb has been attached easy to load and then use.

Limited viewing area.
I really can't understand all the gushing reviews about this camera. I find it pretty terrible, the image is fair, but not great, but the coverage is what is terrible, with a 40 times objective and a 10 times eye piece, i.e. 400 magnification and using a 0.01mm Stage Micrometer Microscope Camera Calibration Slide , I saw through the eye piece 57 divisions or 0.57mm, but on the computer screen I saw only 15 divisions 0.15mm, or only 26% of the view through the eye piece, This was using the Swift software that came with it, but the same just using the computers camera program. Some may think you are getting a greater magnification, you are not, if you had the full view you could always digitally zoom in which would be the same resolution, unfortunately I cannot return under the 30 days , as the microscope I bought it to go with was damaged and was returned and by the time I got a replacement and discovered this downside, the time was up. but beware! you won't be able to share the whole experience with others with this camera.

My wife says that 5mp is more than enough
Initially I thought that I would need lots of megapixels to capture great videos, but 5mp are more than enough In fact, the more research I did suggests that anything above 10mp actually reduces quality. Just noticed at the end the pictures had a hair on the lens, that's not a crack :P I filmed the samples on a SWIFT SW380T microscope If I had any negatives to say, that would be 3 One is the aspect ratio as it is a square Second, it would be that it zooms in a bit, so you actually see more directly than what the camera is showing And lastly, the focal length, as you adjust the camera up and down, I just wasn't able to match the ocular one, so if I want to adjust both digital and look through the microscope myself, I need to slightly adjust the focus... could be fixed with a bit more patience But I recommend 100% and am giving it 5 stars enough

Our Amazing (Inner Space) World Under A Microscope
I have done Astrophotography for many years using CMOS Cameras for my telescope for things Outta Space. I bought this CMOS Camera for my SS120 Microscope to look at things from Inner Space (as I call it). This is a Top Quality CMOS Microscope Camera. That is exceptional Value For Money with excellent Functionality and amazing picture quality. If you are good to excellent at CMOS Imaging, you'll love this. Same as, if you are a complete novice, you too will find this easy to use. 1: Install Software, pertaining to your O/S (WIN, iOS, Linux etc). 2: Insert CMOS Camera into your Microscope Tube ((Remove the standard x2 Tube (Barlow) first, you won't need it. You'll see why if you leave it in)). 3: Plug USB2.0 Lead into your device (works without additional power if using a USB Hub). 4: Run software 5: You'll see Centre Left all the camera perameters and at the top of this, you'll see your camera name. Just single click on camera name to see "LIVE" image. Enjoy You Inner Space :-) This CMOS Microscope Camera works amazingly well and I highly recommend you add this to your Microscope to see further detail and even videos of our Inner Space. My only single annoyance, is the supplied adapters if you intend on using the 2x Tube (Barlow). Whilst the adapters fit nicely onto the x2 Tube (Barlow), once you put your CMOS Camera in the top of the adapter, the adapter will quickly fall off. So, be prepared to catch it before you damage your Camera. Not a very nice thing to find out if you're unaware. I just looked and thought, "hmmm, not good". I have included three "screenshots" to show CMOS Camera and Software in use and also, a Video showing how cells move the closer you get, even when on a glass slide. Thank you for reading :)

Just not good enough - software is awful
Shame but the quality of the image is just not good enough. The lease fit nicely into the microscope but the image quality is poor. Claims to be 5Mp but doesnt look like that. Software is terrible! Design is like something from the 80s. Freezes - and crashes constantly. [Used on a Mac ]

Fully OK for a beginner pathologist
This camera is above my expectations, esp. for the price. I bought this for histology/pathology work (entry level) and study at home. The slides I used are a human histology set from ebay (spleen, thymus, blood smear 40x, gastric mucosa 4x, 10x, 40x). Please keep in mind that all pics included were taken at the day of arrival - my first attempts. Also, my experience in digital microscopy is humble, esp. my knowledge of the graphic settings. You may get better results. Installing software and preparing camera for work from the box to the first photo took 3 minutes. The software came on a metal flashdisc. Work with this camera is very easy and intuitive. This camera comes with a software which allows certain adjustments (basic level of sharpness, brightness, white balance etc., measurements, histogram... please side panel with functions on the last photo), which some of the industrial cameras don't have. It has a "Dark field correction" and "Flat field correction" - not tried yet. Please keep in mind that I am not a specialist so the technical data below may be incomplete: - videos (mp4 (H264), mp4 (H265), avi, wmv ) -> video included. - pics in .bmp . Brigtfield pics included with (Motic plan UC objectives in 3 magnifications: 4x, 10x, 40x). Dark field, phase contrast or polarisation filter not tried yet. The camera comes with 2 adapters. It was possible to fit the camera (through the adapter which was included) to the Motic photo adapter (No. 1101001901931). The video speed in my opinion is great (however I read that the video speed is dependent more on the graphic card of your PC rather than the camera). I would happily recommend this camera to e.g. pathology, histology, botanic students or home office.

Critique on microscope digital eyepiece
Not a good item.Software difficult/problematic for both Windows and IOS Image quality using resident camera app software falls short.Disappointing and tiresome waste of time trying to analyse why the software would not function in either operating system
