I would be happy to reconsider this star rating dependent upon satisfactory product support and customer service which I will try before returning the item. Although purchased two weeks ago I have not been able to fit it until today. The camera itself seems well designed and easy to fit- however in my case it is next to useless as the initial menu opened once after lots of fruitless attempts to allow me to set basic settings but it will no longer open at all. The second menu will not open at all so I cannot even set the correct time and date which makes the camera of little use if ever I needed it as evidence of a road traffic incident. I suspect a faulty menu button as it is one press for menu 1 and two presses for menu 2I have tried to contact Aufikr via their website but the home page will not open. I will keep on trying.From 1 star to four. The problem was the sensitivity of the the camera and I finally sorted it. My advice would be NOT to set up the G facility until the very end. The menus are only accessible when the camera is not recording and the slightest movement of the device restarts the recording and prevents access. I got there in the end by holding the camera on a hard flat surface perfectly still, turning off the recording and accessing the menus. But it was very fiddly. The slightest movement started the recording again and closed the menus. But I got there in the end. The camera itself is perfectly fine and only the fiddliness of the buttons prevents a five star recommendation.

I am really very impressed with this very cheap but functional unit.I wasn't sure if a Dash Cam was viable in my new car as I wanted something discreet that I could fit myself and hide the cables, also as I have a convertible I didn't want something that would be spotted easily and taken when I leave the roof down - this unit was cheap enough to risk and as it stated it was 1080HD with 30FPS I thought I would give it a go.It have fitted it to the left of the rear view mirror and it is small enough to be very discreet, so much so that I actually had to point it out to the wife when she was riding in the car the next day!The supplied cable with cigarette lighter adapter was long enough and thin enough to hide behind the trims and works very well, I was able to plug it into the hidden power socket under the dash or my BMW 4 series and so it gets power when the car is unlocked and when the ignition is on, it also gets power for a few minutes after the car is locked. The on board battery holds the memory fine and the time and date has remained correct over a week of use.The angle of the lens was easy to adjust and the sticky pad worked well to mount the camera and hasn't fallen off. Its a nice touch that you can remove the camera from the base that sticks to the windscreen by moving it sideways with a little force - useful if you want to clean the screen or the camera lens.The pictures as you will see from the attached Video taken on a overcast rainy drive the day I fitted it are really very good, I have it set to the highest resolution and have set it up to record 10 minute chunks of video and then start again, eventually as the card fills it loops and overwrites them but I did a 4 hour journey recently and when I off loaded the card it was all there to review. Each chunk overlaps by about 5 seconds so if you were unlucky enough to have an accident at 10 minutes dead it would be captured on the end of the 1st chunk and the beginning of the second chunk - so that's good.The parked car monitor seems to work and I have a few clips on the card where it has fired up as I have slammed the boot or a door, so I expect that if someone reversed into the car it would capture what was going on for the 10 seconds that it runs - but I am not sure if the battery inside the camera is up to running it for very long.I connected it to my I phone through WiFi easily enough and it seems to work, but to offload videos I prefer to eject the MicroSD card and pop it into my PC to read and copy.I set the audio to record and as you will hear from the attached video it picks up most things going on in the car, including me enjoying some tunes!All in all a very good buy and highly recommended - especially for £40

I purchased the Aufikr D5 Dash Cam for my daughter, the packaging and the contents were very good.Everything you need is included, including a plastic tool to place the cable beneath the car liner and screen without damaging the car. The dash cam is a good size whereby it is small enough not to notice it on the window screen from the outside unless you looked hard at it, as I concealed it behind the screen blackout area with the lens just below.The resolution of the images are very good, we were able to read the registration details of the cars in-front and coming towards us. The setup is very simple and clear, with a good instruction booklet included.You also get a SD Micro USB memory stick (NOT THE SD CARD) so that you can read the Dash Cam SD card on your PC. I also found it useful to have the USB power cable in addition to the Cigarette Style cable as I was able to simply remove the dash cam from the screen holder and use the USB connection in the car to reset the menu options to my specifications.I would definitely recommend this Dash Cam for it's size, visual clarity and ease of use.

RUBBISH!! Pain of a device. The video quality is fine, it looks neat and is quite discreet - which is one reason I bought it. But there doesn’t seem to be a way of watching the footage on the devices own screen, you have to watch it over Wi-fi on your phone or tablet and that can be very slow and can start and stop all the time. The motion detection often prevents you adjusting the settings and you have to hold ur thumb over the lens to make settings adjustments. Lastly, and this is the real annoying one, you are not provided with any other means to affix the camera other than the sticky pad and it never stays on. Several times I have returned to the car to find the device on the floor of the car

There are definitely better cameras available for around the same price. I sent mine back as I was not happy with the picture quality, or the build quality, as had a really cheap flimsy feel to it.Something else to note is because you can only stick it to the windscreen, if you are only able to stick it where the screen starts curving round (as in my case, as the rear view mirror was in the way), then you're not able to adjust the horizontal angle of the lens, so it ended up filming more of the left than the right.
