Glide Gear TMP10 Teleprompter Tablet Smartphone Hot Shoe Bracket Multi Mount Holder

I absolutely love this device! it is portable, made of metal, and works very well. If you are wanting to use it with your phone, you have to turn it towards the side with the shorter holder. If you want to use an ipad or tablet, you have to flip it on the reverse side. I read on another post that if you want it to appear that you are staring directly into the camera, you must lower the camera a bit. I have not tried this yet. Overall, I think this is a very good, device for days that you don't want to deal with lugging a fragile and sometimes, heavy teleprompter. I hope it lasts a long time!

This is a well-made product. The mount has two sides, one size 2-3" and the other 4-5". While it takes over the camera cold shoe, it has a bar that creates a couple extra cold shoe mounts (e.g. for a cold shoe microphone). As shown in the pictures, it is made to fit the top of camera hot shoe and then extend forwards several inches. It does not work with a Sony ZV-1, because the top of the camera is very shallow and the GLIDE protrudes far into the field of view.Although not billed as teleprompters, there are much simpler products that mount a phone directly on a cold shoe, and those could probably work as simple teleprompters. I wasn't able to use this but I expect the line of sight feeling will work best if you are farther back from the camera and then use a little telephoto for framing.

Works exactly as it should. I found that lowering the camera helped make it look like i was looking directly at the camera instead of at the monitor.

Disappointed that my iPad doesn't fit into the tablet side and I have a small version of the iPad.

The plan was to use this Glide Gear Mount and my Samsung Galaxy 12.2 Pro tablet as a teleprompter. The larger screen makes it easier to read. I know Glide Gear and their gear. I use their 6002 Vest and Stabilizer arm for my big rig Pro Canon HD Camera (XLH1A). Prefect stuff. But the TMP 10 won't mount to this camera without an extension to clear the microphone and viewfinder. No big deal. The positive is the TMP 10 will mount my Motorola XooM (10.5" screen), but it's a smaller display and a bit heavy. There's a risk the plastic mount will snap at its base. This will be used in a studio environment, not in the field.

Good product and It does the job perfectly.

It doesn't fasten firmly to the hot shoe. It's prone to sliding around.Also it is really hard to fit an iPad in the tablet side, even though I have one of the smaller models of iPad. I'm not sure why they didn't design the phone holders with screw-in adjustments rather than springs. Would've probably made it more versatile.
