Excellent story
I am a 63yo man who saw the author so am interview on The Daily Show and had to buy this book. The story took me back to my teenage years when I was going thru the same thing. Such a refreshing look the author takes at this little slice of life and how it was so I important to us all at that age. Thanks for the reminder. I highly recommend this book.

Another great book by Jason Reynolds
Neon and his girlfriend of two years are in the final stretch of senior year and want to consumate their relationship. As Neon struggles with his nervousness and anxiety about the situation, we are taken back by 24's to see how their relationship developed and began and get a glimpse into Neon's own story. This is another must read of Jason Reynolds. Readers will be able to connect with both Neon and Aria and understand the real life struggles they face with life in general and in their relationship.

Essential YA book
Thank you to Simon Audio and LibroFM for the complimentary audiobook. These opinions are my own.I find it so appropriate that Judy Blume provided a blurb for this book. It is a coming-of-age novel for right now. And it is such an essential new book.Told from Neon's perspective, this book explores his feelings and nerves as he comes closer to being physically intimate with Aria. It goes back in time by 24 seconds, minutes, hours, and more to when they met two years previously. It demonstrates healthy conversations about consent and respect and talking to family. It was absolutely beautifully written. It's a quick read that achieves everything it sets out to.I enjoyed listening to Guy Lockard's narration. Something about the audio format hit perfectly for this book. It felt as conversational as the tone of the book itself. Nevertheless, I'll be buying physical copies to share through my Little Free Library as well.

Young love with honest intentions
Have you connected with a character on a gut level? Do you feel like an author peeled back your skin to reveal their next character? That’s the type of read 24 Seconds is!Neon is so relatable—wanting to not mess anything up on any level with his girlfriend and their first time. The story unfolds in jumping back by increments of 24 — seconds, minutes, days, weeks, months. It’s a great telling of young love that wants to do it right.
