Cotton Gin
We used this book to supplement our history lessons in our homeschool. This is a very informative book. I read this book aloud to my 1st, 4th, and 6th graders. It is in graphic novel/comic form. I'd say it is about a third grade reading level for a kid reading it by themselves. The book is divided into three chapters, but I wouldn't call it a chapter book. More of a very wordy picture book. All of the kids really enjoyed the book. My fourth grader continued to pour over it for a few days reading and rereading it. It even held the interest of the first graders.

Inappropriate
These books are NOT appropriate for children or for the classroom. It discusses the selling of slaves. Super disappointed and will be throwing Al 6 copies in the trash.

Bringing history to life in a fun way
My kids love graphic novels. In fact, when they are writing stories, they always ask if they can write comics (sometimes I say yes). (PS, I am a teacher and my kids are my students), but when they are able to learn about history in a media that excites them, I say "lets go for it" I really appreciate this series of books.

I am a teacher and my students absolutely love these books
I am a teacher and my students absolutely love these books! I would give them 5 stars, but they are cheaply made and pages start falling out after only a small amount of use.

Dark artwork
The artwork was dark and sinister looking, not at all appealing for a childrens book. Information was fairly accurate( I'm in the market for accurate farm books) but some negative statements were unnecessary and did not add to the information.
