Something of a 'Diamond In The Rough'...
I agree that more detailed information about the Italian air effort against England, during the Battle of Britain, is a welcome addition. There are many pictures of Italian planes which I have not seen before, which is a plus, as the overall supply of these is, of course, finite. One which puzzled me, however, is a picture, on Page 19, with the caption reading "Medics tend to one of the wounded crew members of a Fiat BR.20M immediately after the bomber's return from a combat mission;" but the only aircraft visible is the tail of an SM-79, NOT a BR.20!! Hmm... In a book specializing on Italian W.W.II aircraft, that's curious. Along with this, there are a few somewhat stilted misuses of the English Language here and there, so one wonders exactly who did the editing, before it went to print. Sadly, standards in this area are slowly slipping... However, from a modeler's standpoint, this book is well worth the price; recommended!

I went through the book and was very pleased with the way it was formatted
The copy I received was damaged but before I sent it back, I went through the book and was very pleased with the way it was formatted. The color profiles of the various Italian aircraft that took part in the operations over the channel and southernEngland are superb. I was disappointed that there was not a profile of theFiat BR 20 as that was one of the most important planes in the Italian air contingent, that is why I only gave it four stars. But that won't stop me from buying another copy, it really is that good of a book. I forgot to mention that the text was great too, very informative.

Highly reccommended!
Great book that fills in the story of the Italians in the Battle of Britain .Good coverage of all the aircraft and photos of the base .Considering the effort put into the expedition, one wonders why so few attacks were made by the Italians. Also why they didn't work together with the German forces. This book answers these questions and a lot more. It also answers myths about the operation and goes into detail of fighter sweeps made by the fighter planes, and lots of detail on all missions.Recommended for anyone interested in Italian aviation or Battle of Britian.

Only book I know about that is dedicated to this unit
After reading this book, you get to see the operation from a historical perspective that the italian air force participated in and the many challenges that they faced during this operation. The pictures and line drawing is very good and the brief description of the aircraft is also well covered. Many books give the italian air force a bad rap during this operation, but the book describes the many challenges and limitation also experienced by them

Avanti Italiani
Endlich mal eine Zusammenfassung des Corpo Aero Italiano Einsatzes in einem Buch. Gute Photos, gute Farbtafeln, leicht verständlicher (engl.) Text. Gleichwohl, es handelt sich natürlich um einen Überblick, und nicht um eine lückenlose, bis ins letzte Detail gehende Analyse. Insgesamt voll empfehlenswert und für jeden Regia Aeronautica Fan unverzichtbar! Mein Rat: kaufen!!

the Cant Alcione is pretty much conspicuous by it's absence amonst the photographs
Comprehensive history of little known topic (similar to Osprey in some ways. Sadly, the Cant Alcione is pretty much conspicuous by it's absence amonst the photographs.
