AIR802® manufactures high precision and performance connectors including this reverse polarity SMA (RP-SMA) plug-male for RG8 and 400-Series and Belden 9913 size cables. Connectors can be a bit confusing regarding the gender. The RP-SMA plug is a male connector. It has threads inside and the pin does not protrude from inside the connector. Instead it has a receptacle hole. This causes confusion for many not familiar with various connector types leading them to believe that this is the female, however it is the male. We generally prefer the term, plug and jack in order to avoid this confusion. A plug is a male and a jack is a female.
