I got this set for my hubby to try but I gave it a sample as well for this review. You get a set of 3: cleanser, toner, and facial lotion. Among this set of 3, only the facial cleanser came with a protective seal around the top, while the lotion and toner I could just use right away without removing any kind of protective seal. These products do have a very light perfume scent, nothing overwhelming or anything that lingers after applying. The cleanser did feel a little drying on my face after washing especially around my cheeks, forehead and eyelids. I have combination skin. My hubby didn't notice anything drying or any area that felt tight for him after using. My husband used the toner and lotion where he felt the toner was a little tingly or itchy at first but then dissipated and the lotion absorbed well and felt comfortable after applying without leaving a sticky residue. The both of us feel that the price at the time of this review of $93 for this set is quite steep so while these products didn't irritate our skin, it's just a lot to spend on something that doesn't really perform any better than store bought brands.

I've tried many men's facial care brands, but never Lab Series before. I was excited to get this set and tried it as soon as I opened the package this evening. It is a 3-part facial cleanse, tone, moisturize process. The cleanser only takes a small dab about the size of a pea, applied to a wet face. It feels gentle and soothing, yet a little tight after rinsing so you know some cleaning happened. The water lotion is a toner that is indeed watery in consistency -- application quickly eases the tightness after cleansing and replenishes hydration. The energizing lotion has a bit of a tingle to it and feels like a thicker protective layer of moisture. The fragrances of all 3 are uniform, if not identical, and pleasant...I can't quite pinpoint the scents, but seems a little floral but in a masculine way. I looked pretty tired today and as soon as I applied this treatment my face looks refreshed and invigorated. I do wish the toner was in a spray/misting bottle instead of having to pour it into your hands to apply, and it did seem odd to not have a protective seal on each bottle. Other than that I'm very happy with these products and would definitely get this set again and try other Lab Series products now that I see the quality. The price seems high, but a little goes a long way so should last awhile.

This is a set of three skincare essentials marketed towards men. They are manufactured in Belgium. The tubes and bottles have a "masculine" appearance, so as not to deter a man who might feel self conscious about buying a skincare kit. I have reviewed the active ingredients only and these feature tried and trusted formulas which should be well tolerated amongst most customers. The bottles and tubes have a minimalist style which should appeal to masculine customers. The products do have a masculine fragrance; this step is unnecessary in my opinion, but it's there and not unpleasant as far as men's toiletries are concerned. The cleansing gel seems pretty concentrated, so this tube should last a good while, with conservative use. The witch hazel enhanced toner is the perfect choice for a man's astringent type toner and the moisturizing cream feels hydrating and VERY nice on the skin! I am unfamiliar with this brand so I cannot comment on either it's reputation, or whether these products are appropriately priced. This is not a cheap skincare set. It would make a great gift which should be well received - my spouse would be pleased with it (and he may wind up with it, after all!). I'll recommend this.

My pack of this Lab Series set of skin care arrived a bit mangled, and I was surprised to find a second face wash in place of the lotion. So I can't speak to the lotion, but hey, extra face wash! I'm happy with the quality of both the face wash and the toner. While these aren't particularly large containers, you only need a tiny squeeze of the face wash, about the size of a pea. My face does feel a bit dry after using it, but the toner starts making it feel moisturized again, and the addition of (some other brand of) lotion, my face feels nice and clean and smooth. The niacinamide in the toner is one of the most common nicely effective ingredients, and is one thing I look for in toners and serums. The face wash is scented, but mildly so, and I can't come up with words to describe it well. Herbal, maybe? Inoffensive? I've been known to react to scented products, but have had no reaction to these.
