I finally found them!
After many years of searching I found exactly what I was looking for: comfort, ease of use, great sound, and great ANC. To be honest I am not an audiofile and I honestly never found earbuds that quite fit me and was satisfied with until now. So take that into consideration. Let me start. The Link buds are comfortable! So much so you may need to check from time to time they are still in your ear. The rubber horn on the end is hallow and is what keeps the bud in your ear. Once you wedge this horn correctly the link buds stay in your ear! I have never had ear buds that could stay in my ear like this. Not even Will Ferrell listening to "what is love" can knock these things out! The Link buds fit has great active noise canceling! I went to a carnival last night and the anc was amazing. I was able to clearly hear the music while a live band was playing, while standing next to the loud carnival rides, and hear the music clearly even in the crowds. No matter where I was at I could clearly hear the music. I even tested out audio books and yt. No issues hearing the words. I do have to mention i had to install the Sony sound connect app on my phone to get ANC to work. Audio quality when listening to music was clear and the bass was strong (another thing that can be adjusted in sound connect). Update: no issues listening to music or podcasts on a bus. Some negative points: The price. These earbuds are more exepnsive then majority of the competition but considering what the Link bud fit provides, I consider it completely worth it since they would be great for commuting, exercising, or just about anything. Not good if your with your family at the carnival when they are trying to talk to u. 😉. Not really a fan of how it pairs with devices, the button is on the case. That's it for now. I may update my review at a later date, good or bad. For now my first impression is that this is a definite buy!

Very good all-around earbuds
These are really good earbuds! They have very good software. The microphone (input) noise canceling works extremely well for business meetings, it seems to auto-calibrate people's voices to a similar volume, and the sound quality is excellent. I use these for work, music, the gym, everything. The only downside I can highlight is I think Sony's speaker (output) noise canceling is not the best, but I have other over-ear headphones for that purpose. I think these are underrated.

loud uncomfortable popping sound when driving and windows down.
In my hunt for a good set of in ears, I alas returned these due to the popping sound was loud when riding in a vehicle. The did a good job for voice over phone calls, decent audio reproduction, but the noise cancelling was not up to snuff. But what the did excel at was twisting into my ear and staying put, which was wonderful, but with if you drive with your windows down it's a no go. But if you are in the yard, working out, mowing the lawn, working in a factory, where youare moving around a lot, these are hard to beat and out of the 6 pairs I tried, including ones up to 400, these stayed in the best.

Atrociously bad tap controls
I compared three earbuds in the same bracket: - Sony LinkBuds Fit - Bose QuietComfort Ultra - Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 Sony LinkBuds Fit 🟊☆☆☆☆ The tap controls are highly unreliable. When tapping a bus twice (carefully, directly on the earbud), it might register zero taps, one tap, or two taps. Thus, your two taps will randomly do nothing, pause the music, or skip the track. Frustrating. I perceived no improvement on sound quality over my old $50 Anker Space A40s. Furthermore, Sony's setup app is malware: it hides among the legal agreements an "Agree" to data sharing. I don't know what Wirecutter is smoking; I liked nothing about these. Bose QuietComfort Ultra 🟊🟊🟊☆☆ I was so close to loving these. The noise cancelling is incredible. The "Immersive Mode" brings music to life in a way I hadn't experienced with earbuds. However, the deal killer was that the earbuds would disconnect from my phone every few minutes. This is apparently a common issue. Additionally, the tap controls are better than Sony's, but still bad: you're supposed to slide your finger along it to change the volume, but this often registers as a tap. All this said, you might nevertheless want to try these with your phone and cross your fingers that they can stay connected, because the noise cancelling and sound is that good. If they work for you, you've won the lottery, and you're a lucky bastard. Odds are, though, it will be glitchy and unreliable for you, too. Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 4 🟊🟊🟊🟊🟊 Great, reliable tap controls. Noise cancelling and sound is not quite as good as the Bose QuietComfort, but still sounds great. Stays connected. Doesn't force you to use a crappy app. Comfortable. Has a premium look to it. Ultimately, you want earbuds that sound good, stay connected, and aren't frustrating to use. This is it.

Almost enough noise cancelling
I've been using noise cancelling ear buds for a few years now and these are the worst at cancelling noise. I'm in a restaurant right now and I can hear the highest pitch sounds perfectly over the YouTube video I'm trying to watch. I can hear plates being bussed across the room better than I could without noise cancelling turned on. I figured I'd try the Sony after being advertised how amazing their noise cancelling tech is. I imagin a software update could fix this issue, but updating the "award winning" software to cancel an entire range of sound that feels like dribbling a ball point pin on the base of my skull while I'm trying relax at lunch is disappointing. The sound that it does produce is quality, the fit is good and the battery capacity is what I expected.

These are so awesome
I bought these in “very good” condition. Came in a plain generic box but came with a charging cable and all the tips. I bought these to alternate with my Beats Fit Pro when I workout. I was not expecting much but WOW, I forgot that Sony made quality earbuds. The app is awesome, very useful. I love that they greet you after you put them on “good morning” “good afternoon” etc.. and proceed with the date. Also tells you the time every hour. “It’s three o clock pm” and so on. The sound is the best part. Very balanced and crisp. They are very very lightweight and fit comfortably in your ear so much that you forget you’re wearing them. Sony hit a home run with these. I’m so impressed I’m gonna start buying more Sony earbuds in the future. If I had to choose between my beats fit and my Linkbuds fit, I’ll choose these. Oh, you don’t need to tap the actual earbud, you can tap below and around your ear instead. How cool is that? The app has so many cool features, too much to list here. The case is so tiny, like tiny tiny, I just wish Amazon or anyone would make a hard shell case for it with a carabiner. I just carry it in a generic pouch that came with other earbuds(but no carabiner). I don’t like the soft silicone ones. The ANC isn’t anything special but it’s a workout earbud so total noise cancellation isn’t a good idea. This also has transparency mode. These are the perfect workout/jogging earbuds. Get them used if you can, save some of your hard earned money

Poor noise cancellation, overly complex controls
I bought these because as of early 2025 The Wirecutter said they were going to be the new top pick. But I'm returning them after three days. The sound quality is fine, and they fit great. But the noise cancelling doesn't work well (still plenty of noise, there was a whistling sound from the left ear, and PA announcements cut through loudly). The auto-location feature for noise cancellation was very distracting, switching modes at the wrong time for no apparent reason. Tapping controls are not intuitive, and I had to use the app to switch modes. Even still, tapping to answer or hang up a call worked only about half the time. Plus, when I blow my nose while wearing them, they stop entirely (maybe it thought that was some sort of audible command to pause?). So these are not going to be my go-to headphones, especially when there are other great ones for less than a third of the price.

linkbuds fit purple
These sound 9/10, great bass, clear highs. More than good enough for bassy music and action video games. Fit is 9/10, I'm an average sized dude and the rubber fins could be a bit bigger to really lock in, maybe they'll offer that in gen 2. But the rubber keeps them locked in for any activity, and still very comfortable thanks to very short nozzles. Touch controls are 4/10. Maybe because rubber covers the touch area, these almost never recognize finger taps. I have so many earbuds that this isn't a deal breaker, as I rarely rely on onboard controls anyway. Every earbud company likes to have their own convoluted control scheme, and they change the controls per every earbud, so why bother learning any of it? Ain't nobody got time for that. Battery life is average, with all sound enhancement turned off. 8-10 hours at around 75% volume. Price is kind of high tbh, but they're way better than any of my cheaper earbuds. After a few weeks, I like these a lot. Might even get an extra pair.

Wings are too small
Returned, the wings were to small for my ears, perhaps with different wing sizes it would work. Beats fitness pro works better for me, the wings are long enough

Very comfortable for every day use
I’ve got tiny ears so I don’t have much to say about the “fins” (fitting supporters) because they don’t fit inside MY ear at all BUT, still very comfortable nonetheless. The fitting supporters would fit someone with maybe average to above average sized ears especially when combined with the extra small ear tips included in the box. The charging case opens like a shell which I’m not really a big fun of, much prefer the older model’s case but I do like the dual finish-glossy top and matte bottom. In the case are the designated charging slots for the earbuds along with room for the fins which if you do decide take of the fins, the interior of the case is designed in way that earbuds will still be able to fit inside and charge. Really good design! The sound quality is decent i would say out of the box, but once you utilize the clear bass feature which you can find on the sound connect app, these can sound really good. I put clear bass at +9, lowered the mids by two notches, and bump the highs up 2notches, and for me, that sounds good. Noise cancelling is really good. You can still hear some low frequencies like heavy footsteps and some high frequencies like sirens but they are tuned down very low to the point of ALMOST being non audible. Maybe it’s just me but with anc on that clogged feeling around the eye and noise area is non-existent with these which is great for people who hate that feeling. Ambient mode is impressive. You turn it on and they feel like open earbuds, however the sound does shift once you do so, to more bass and less treble which can be jarring once you turn it off and all the bass goes away and the treble kicks in. This is the same with anc on but even more bass. The ear does readjust after some time though. The tap control feature can very unresponsive at times because they say you should tap in front of the ear or on the earbuds themselves to get it to work, but I find that repeatedly tapping on top of the ear as in the flabby cartilage part, works WAY better. Surprised that’s not how the tap control was advertised. BY FAR my favorite thing on the linkbuds fit is the background music effect within the sound connect app. That “cafe” effect is really really cool. That feature is 5 stars on its own! Overall they are good earbuds with decent sound outside the box, really good anc and impressive ambient mode which is a step up from the previous model. My only cons are that I wish they were smaller so they weren’t so uncomfortable when laying on my side and since they stick out so much for me, they are very noticeable out in public which I don’t like, but maybe that’s just my small ears. Again, that background sound effect feature is amazing! Good job Sony.
