Haven’t used the remote yet, but the mount worked perfectly to hold an iphone and directional microphone during a recent wedding ceremony. It’s very well made and I had no problems with the cold shoe location for the mic I used.

I am a coach and needed a mount to connect to my tripod so I could shoot videos from my iphone for my social medias. The mount is good and keeps the phone safe of a screen crack because of the screw (there is no pression against the phone). The shooter is good as well, I only wish it was less noisy when activated (sometimes one can hear the "click"in the vídeo.

Seems to be made of quality material. My only gripe is that the mechanism sticks when I loosen the adjustment screw.

Used in the 3rd week of Aug. 2018 inside a tour boat between the border of Canada and the US. The Thousand Island Tour to be specific, beautiful sights all along the 2 hour ride. This clamped on to my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 that I confidently extended my hand outside the window. I can control the amount of grip that it applies to my phone, compared to a spring loaded grip where there is no control at all. You either have a very tight grip (crushing your phone) or an unsure grip not conveying confidence at all. Also that spring gets weak in time but since you do not have any idea if the spring used is a quality one or not then you do not have any idea when it weakens and give you false confidence that it is gripping your phone. This grip is aluminum so weather exposure is not an issue. The accompanying bluetooth shutter remote worked fine. Just give it time to connect since I set my phone to shut off after a certain amount of time the BT connection is therefore cut off too. Other than that my family's vacation was a lot better than before because this device allowed me to capture pictures and videos more easily and confidently. Easy because I only need one hand instead of both hands to steady the phone and to click the shutter. Without this device I would need both hands to hold the phone steady (ish) and then my thumb to click the shutter. I paired this with a pistol grip mini-tripod that scared the security people at the St.Louis Arch but they were just doing their jobs so as soon as they saw what it was for, they wanted one too.

What i love the most about this mount is that the screw tightens the phone. I bought the Ztylus® Z-Grip Universal Smartphone Rig and is almost useless since the spring is constantly pushing the grip apart and the nut/screw used to tight the phone is plastic and located in a inconvenient place which makes the grip to loose strength and eventually release the phone.Highly recommended.

The tripod mount feels quality and grips the phone nicely. The remote works, but feels very cheap and I don't see it lasting very long. Probably better to just buy the tripod mount without the remote.
