After being forced into substitute teaching, Glenn Radars is the last person to be molding the minds of young mages. And his blasé attitude is driving student Sistine Fibel insane! While she’s eager to learn, he’s trying to sleep through class. Luckily, she has best friend Rumia Tingel to help her get a handle on her temper. That is, until she winds up challenging Glenn to a magic duel—and wins. It begs to question: how did this fool wind up at this prestigious academy?!But Glenn is more than he leads on. When the school is attacked by the Researchers of Divine Wisdom, his true talent comes to light—as do a myriad of secrets the kingdom has been keeping! Caught in the middle of it all, Rumia and Sistine must put their faith in Glenn if they want to become capable mages and defend their school. Review: The Mage of Justice - - Synopsis: Meet Glen Radars. A reluctant magic instructor tasked with teaching a class of young mages. However, with his nonchalant attitude, and unremarkable behavior, he doesn’t earn much respect from his students or peers. But underneath his jovial attitude lies some dark secrets that eventually surface as the story progresses...Tune in to know more about Glen Radars and his life as an instructor. - Comments: I fancy the Fantasy genre a lot. It's also nice seeing a protagonist that isn't a high schooler, as that formula grows rather trite for me. Glen isn't the first of his time, but he's still entertaining, nonetheless. And his skills are definitely impressive. - Analysis: Everyone's got their dark, ugly side that they don't want others to know. In fact, in my experience, some of the ones that seem happy, probably are just pretending. And they generally have some of the worst melt-downs, too. But part of wearing masks as a facade, is part of being human. It can also be seen as defense mechanism. Such as putting the "tough-guy" act in order to avoid being victimized. In short, you can't judge a book by its cover. - Features: Contains English audio, and Japanese audio with English subtitles. The subtitles are white. Includes 12 episodes on 2 Blu-rays and 2 DVDs. The runtime is about 5 hours and is rated TV-MA for violence, blood, language, and suggestive scenes. - Conclusion: This anime has many underlying dark tones throughout. So, the TV-MA rating is understandable. Moreover, I didn't care much for the English dub that much, but I generally strongly prefer Japanese dub anyways. The subtitles are white, as opposed to yellow, in case that's a deal-breaker for some viewers. From cute girls, to silly antics, this light novel-based anime is a mixed bag. Overall, I enjoyed it. - Recommendations: Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero, In Another World With My Smartphone, Sky Wizards Academy, Kono Suba, Re:Zero, Armed Girl’s Machiavellism, Blade Dance of the Elementalers, High School DxD, K, Tokyo ESP, Code:Breaker, Needless, Black Bullet, and Gate. Review: A fun series - it keeps you guessing! - This is a really fun anime series. As a retired school teacher, it's fun to see the new, substitute teacher get himself into messes, and even more fun to see how he extracts himself. In addition, there are several "mysteries" going in the background, sometimes solved one at a time, and one requires the whold season for resolution. I obviously enjoyed this anime, and fully intend to watch it again; I got my money's worth from this purchase!

Shut in Goes To School
The idea in part behind where the series starts off and the main male protaganists changes thru out the series are pretty well handled, but what I think i like is the main female characters growth and how she ends up by the end of the series. The supporting cast is well done and enjoyable to watch, especially when Glenn starts hasselling his least favorite co-worker...Reil's "plans" crack me up. I definitely spent a lot of time chuckling at the antics. Again this is another series that does a good job of fanservice without ending up where DxD does. Good emotional parts also with some tough subjects.

Good series
I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the trailer I'd seen for this series. I took a chance and bought it. I really enjoyed this series. Very fun character interaction.

Another Typical Animation
While this is just another typical Animation, it is actually as decent watch for the genre. Somewhat pervy guy, cute girls and magic... Akashic Records has some cool characters, interesting little plot twists and side stories, and, while it is not the best animated series out there, it is worth the watch. A second season could be interesting in filling in some of the plot holes since we never learn what the Akashic Records really are or the purpose of the floating castle.. If they make one that is...
