The internet must be brought under total government control!?
OK let's cover the good bits first. The presenter has a nice bow tie and the use of presentation graphics is quite flash (sorry if you have the audio only). I have no problem with the factual content of this title and there is some good practical info, but please note it has political edge and lots of opinion. If you want a technical lecture on cyber security then one should seek out VTC or CBT nuggets. The presenter, Paul Rosenzweig is a lecturer on cyber security law, former homeland security and is founder of a homeland security consultancy company so you can get an idea straight out the gate what the agenda of this title is. There is more than a wiff of government propaganda throughout, though very well executed I may add. I started to feel very uneasy, even nauseous when he mentioned how the constitution could limit the ability for us to protect ourselves.I particularly enjoyed the scaremongering how power stations and missiles can be controlled by viruses from the internet. The solution? Not more robust security on the corporate or government side, but taking away your civil liberties and introduce total internet governance. LOL! If I may just pop a question in here; why does the government even use the internet if it as insecure as they make out?For some reason there is a lot of anti Syria spiel and there is a sinister prophetical shutdown of the internet from a giant cyber attack.Everybody must be on the cloud is another conclusion. All our moves made on the cloud. mmm what could the cloud agenda be? Apologies for being so cynical but I recommend you get this title to check out the way government policy is going. It's pretty tragic since the internet has been the greatest invention of modern times and now there is a real danger it will be censored on the basis of supposed or real cyber crime.By the end of the course you are left begging your government to take away your freedom of speech and anonymity on the internet in fear of the 'bad actors' (as he calls them).
