Worked perfectly did the job cheap solution

Following a conversation at a party where the nostalgia was high - the topic of old games and gamiong consoles came up. I have several old consoles boxed in the loft and they have not been used as things have moved on - HOWEVER - the conversation got me thinking and when I saw this cable it was just something I had to try.It was really easy to set up , all I had to suply was a USBA power source and away I could go, The picture quality is of course limited to the output of the original device but if the TV doesn't automatically adjust the picture to full screen (mine does) there is a little switch to toggle between 4:3 16:9 to suit.The cable is well built ith good connections and long enough for my purposes.So having connected it up to the megadrive out came Sonic and Crazy Taxi - it took a little getting used to the games again but having not played them in such a long time it was both a delight and frustrating to have to rediscover everything.The cable isn't expensive, it works as it should and has given me hours of fun playing games I maybe haven't touched in 20 years - now to try some other consoles.....

This is a very useful cable if you still have an old DVD or VHS player and want to hook it up to a modern TV.Unfortunately for retro consoles it's less ideal because it has a male scart connection and most retro consoles dont have a scart connection, they have a cable that's a small rectangular RGB connector one end and the male scart the other.That said it's still worthwhile if you have a device with an old female scart connection and you wish to connect it to a HDMI connection on your TV.Quality isnt bad but clearly the old gear wasnt meant to output to 1080P so you're going to get a blocky/pixelated picture. Still better than not being able to play those old devices though!

This is a neat and ingenious device to take audio and composite video from a SCART connector and deliver it to an HDMI plug. SCART, an acronym from the French love of linguistic complexity is short for "Syndicat des Constructeurs d’Appareils Radiorécepteurs et Téléviseurs". It was the way to connect analogue devices such as TVs, video recorders and satellite receivers together. This adapter is a simple way to connect an aged device such as a VHS video recorder to a modern digital TV equipped with multiple HDMI inputs.The magic happens in the elongated HDMI plug, although power is needed, and sourced through a USB plug. There is a switch on the plug to change aspect ratio if needed. It is very clever and not very expensive.Depending on your TV, the Converter may not even be necessary. Many already have phono (otherwise known as RCA) connectors and SCART to phono leads are (or perhaps were) readily available and very cheap. My old VHS recorder even has phono sockets for video and audio in and out. All three of my LED TVs also have bidirectional SCART sockets. If you have say a SCART equipped recorder you presumably also have a suitable lead.Neither this converter, nor the integrated electronics that may exist in your TV, can improve video quality. This, from SCART equipped devices, is likely to be of a much lower definition than we are now used to. I have given this Converter five stars because it does precisely what it says it does and without fuss. However, the number of people who will need it because they don't have any alternative is likely to be small.

This is great for getting VHS tapes to play from a VCR into a modern TV.It was plug and play, I just stuck the HDMI and the USB into the TVs inputs, and the SCART into the TV Out on the VCR.. With a bit of persuasion to get the eject mechanism working on the VCR, it worked just fine.There's no real upscaling here that I can see, it seems like it just does some pixel multiplication to upscale the image, but it looks as good as I remember VHS playback.Its a neat solution and it works fine.

I used this to connect an old VHS tape player to a modern TV.It has a switch to set the aspect ratio between 4:3 and 16:9 depending on preference.It needs a free USB socket on the TV, or somewhere else, to power it.

Funktioniert einwandfrei .Ich habe einen alten Recorder und einen 34 Jahre alten Film angeschaut auf einem 4 K Fernseher und muss sagen die Qualität ist dafür gut.
