Making the second dress was an easier go around!! 😅
I made two sizes! Nice pattern. It was a little difficult trying to cut out the smaller size because I had to lift the pattern up to adjust to find the smaller pattern lines. But I am also not experienced. Thankfully my 91 yr old mother was available to coach me, lol!! ♥️

Well designed children’s pattern
I sew a lot of my clothes so that I get the right fit. I’ve been sewing since I was about eight years old, so I continued to collect patterns that will allow me to create the look I want. This pattern is simple and easy to follow.

Lovely dress, but button straps may not be long enough
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I loved making this dress for my grandaughter. A word of warning: The top straps when you use the button option were not long enough to reach fully down over the front in order to make a buttonhole and use the button option. I made a size 7 for my granddaughter and otherwise the dress fit perfectly. Measure your child carefully from the back, over the shoulder to where the straps will affix to the bodice with a button. I think an extra inch or inch and a half would be a good idea. I had to make some alterations to make this work for my granddaughter.

Great summer dress for my granddaughter
My granddaughter was wearing a princess dress when I got to her house. She didn't want to take it off... with some prying and fuss, I was able to get her to try on the dress I made her... After she got it on she romped around and wouldn't take it off. I LOVE the pockets and was thinking they would be perfect for collecting eggs on her farm... well, she sent me a video of her reaching in the pocket and out came a baby chick! It took me a bit to learn how to understand the terminology since I'm knew but googling helped. BTW, it is very quick to make!

Defective pattern on McCalls M5613
View C and D skirt pattern piece was at least 5" too short and bodice piece looked like a waistband. I had to make it 2" taller. I checked later and the skirt pattern for other views was ok. I wish I'd noticed before I cut it! Now I have to buy more fabric to take the dress apart and replace the skirt. Lots of work, especially with the pockets! Not like the picture on the envelope at all. I have been sewing all my life and have never seen something like this. Return window time has passed or I would have returned it.
