Don’t really do reviews, but seeing how mid rated this protective skin currently has baffles me. Just take your time and be attentive when installing it, my install went perfect and thought the application method allowed for perfect alignment. I love the thickness of the film and feel it protects for my needs as I’m using this with a bag, caseless. Don’t care for the bulk of a case. This keeps it nice and slim.

Not very happy with this kit at all. I should preface my review with the fact that I own a custom automotive shop and some of the services we offer are vinyl and PPF vehicle wraps. I have lots of experience working with these types of materials. The overall kit looks nice when it arrives. I checked the fitment and most panels line up very nicely. The one for the bottom is slightly off as the feet were cut too close to the inside. I can live with it since it’s the bottom. The trackpad has a line running from left to right, exactly where the liner on the back is cut so you can peel it off from the backside. It’s like the pressure from their plotter is too high and it scores the actual material. Doesn’t look good. My biggest complaint is the blotchy finish on the face. I applied it exactly how the manufacturer shows on their instructions. Most PPF material is installed wet and then squeegeed until all bubbles are gone and you have a flawless finish. This material is installed dry instead. I used the provided hard card to install it but you can see blotchy marks all over the face. It looks terrible. There isn’t any dust or debris but the glue from the adhesive is visible so it looks really bad. I have reached out to the company via their website since there is no way to contact them here. If they replace the two panels for me I will come back and edit this review but I can’t currently comment on their customer support.

The installation was straightforward. Proper preparation is key—once you do that, the rest is easy. The protection film looked fine initially. Installing the touchpad and palm rest protection film was very easy. However, the monitor portion has discoloration in all corners, as shown in one of my pictures. While it’s not a deal breaker, at certain angles, it looks cheap. As for the base portion, I’m unhappy with the end product. If you look at the pictures, there are two impacts or tears in the film. There’s no dirt or debris underneath, but the damage is more noticeable in person. Although it won’t be highly visible to others (for obvious reasons), I’m still disappointed that it’s defective. Considering how much I paid, I expected better quality control. Now I’m wondering if this warrants a return. Unfortunately, returning it isn’t an option for obvious reasons. It would be great if the vendor could send a non-defective films as a replacement.

Very good product … I bought it just for the external case of my new MBP, and I was not planning on installing the extra hand wrest and the track pad covers, but the ease of the installation process and the high quality of the material, made me change my mind. Genius idea for making sure the product is well aligned, and to minimize, if not eliminate altogether lints and debris etc during the installation process. I wish they make screen protectors as well, I would have bought it in a heart beat

If you like the naked look of the MacBook but still want scratches protection, this is it. The film is slightly durable but only for superficial scratches. Application is tricky.

This is not the same as the popular brand, and many similar competitors, that used self-healing TPU as their protective base. These are made from 3M all-weather vinyl with air release channels to simplify installation: no soapy water required. It’s not as thick or resilient as the other stuff because it’s not the same stuff. There’s nothing wrong with it. It’ll protect against stains and light scratches, but it’s not as durable as what you’re expecting. No utensil dragging. If this is still what you want, and you have a Space Black MacBook Pro, be sure to get the Space Black version. It has coloring to counteract the reflectivity of their normal vinyl, so the blacks stay black.

Let me be CLEAR: this skin protector looks good once it’s on. But getting it on? Oh buddy....... I thought this would be a quick 15 minute install. You know, peel, stick and magic. Like stealing candies from kids. WRONG. This was less “easy application” and more of a “manual dexterity stress test designed by sadists.” One wrong move and you’ve got air bubbles, misaligned corners and a creeping existential crisis. The top cover was tricky. The palm rest? A full psychological thriller. The bottom panel? That was Vietnam. Overall, great product. Buy it if you have the hands of a surgeon, the patience of a monk and the spirit of someone who’s made peace with chaos.
