Light materials but sturdy construction with very customizable design. Slightly cramped vertical desk space.
I was shopping all over for a stand that will work with an Acer Predator laptop, some of the best gaming laptops around but also the heaviest, plus they intake mainly from the front so that can't be blocked, nor should be the bottom because it also has traditional underside vents, and I know this says it's for 13-15 inch laptops where the Predator is considered a very very chunky 17" laptop, but I've been through three different stands and after doing the measurements, I ended up going with this out of desperation. The included adjustable clips are both sturdy enough to (barely) hold its weight, and the difference between this stand working for me or not. Note to 90% of the manufacturers of stands like these: It doesn't matter how good the tabletop is if your product has trash clips for holding your laptop at an angle that break if you put more than a two-pound Macbook on it. Take note, these are good quality. Now to the setup:After about an hour of my own frustrating and tedious R&D (though there are a couple of suggested combinations that resulted in my laptop falling over like trying to balance a car atop a house of cards) I was left on my own to figure out a way to set up the legs so I could use this monstrous laptop slouched in bed, and pay attention gamers, because let me save you an hour-long headache and give you the magic formula if your laptop hangs a good 4-5 inches off the edge of the disappointingly small desk, starting with the hinges attached to the table: 180-15-225. It seems like a rather steep angle, but if it's like mine your beefy laptop will make it worryingly sag a good 15 degrees anyway. So the materials are light-weight, but I give the construction an A plus. We'll see how it holds up, and I'll probably update if it doesn't.

Adjustable legs are great, can be adjusted independent of each other.
The best! I really like that I can adjust they legs independent of each other. I often use my laptop computer in a recliner/lazyboy type chair with it sitting on the arm of the chair. While the arm happens to be nearly a foot wide it's still very awkward. However, I can adjust not only the angle it sits at, but I can leave the leg on the arm basically folded up, while the leg that ends up in the center of the chair, with my legs, can be opened up and adjusted so the whole thing is very stable. Stable enough that even when the dogs jump up and down I don't feel like I have to grab hold to make sure the computer doesn't end up on the floor. It does take some monkeying around with to figure out how to get the legs to rotate so that they not only open up to extend as well as crate the desired angle. It's not as intuitive as it looks like it aught to be. Adjusting the platform is a good three handed job, that really has to be done by one person so that can get interesting as well. Takes one hand in each side to adjust them simultaneously, and a third to hold it while you do.Still the best way to go. Far better then standard electric cooling fans boards often used under a laptop, just having the holes in the platform even if you never use the adjustable legs. For the money, hard to beat the other options out there that Ironhide this same option.

Fantastic tray, ideal for digital tablets and laptops.
Great product. I don't actually use it for a laptop but it's perfect for my Cintiq Pro 13 due to the fine angle control. Using a digital drawing tablet with this tray allows you to get just the right angle that's comfortable for you while drawing. Also, because it doesn't require any support in the middle, the desk space is free for a mouse and a keyboard . The stand is sturdy, and is highly configurable. It's perfect for use on a desk, or even a couch due to the independently adjustable legs. The only downside I've found is that it slides around on the desk if you put varying amounts of pressure on it. I solved this problem by purchasing a few adhesive, rubber pads that I cut to fit on the bottom of the legs touching the desk. It doesn't move at all now unless I pick it up first.Highly recommended.

Worked great for recovering from surgery.
I ordered this so I could lay in bed and watch Netflix after my hysterectomy. The bottomed was not big enough to hold the iPad in its case, but I was able to hang it over the top and it worked perfectly. A little hard to maneuver the legs perfectly, but once I got it, all was good.

Super for multi purposes
I love using this in bed for my lightweight 15" laptop. I have a standup desk at work, but if I wanted the same luxury at home for just the laptop, I'd certainly use this stand. I like how each side is independent, so I can fold one up and rest it on the arm of the couch and extend the other to have good horizontal support.

Good buy
Easy to use, can be put into almost any position. The example picture is a little misleading; I have a 2 in 1 laptop, so it's very light. But not so light to where I thought it would make the stand almost fall forward every time I had adjusted it into any position that featured the bottom segment of each leg pointing away from me. MUCH sturdier when bottom segment is positioned pointing towards you

Works
My only problem is that you cannot close it completely with the mouse pad attached. This makes it a pain to store.

It's OK
It is OK for what I need it for! Kind of a pain to get it to sit just right!
