This is a very sweet piece of fashion jewellery.I chose the gold-plated version. I’m not sure what the base metal is on this, as both silver versions specifically mention being sterling silver whereas the gold does not mention silver at all.The lightweight necklace came in a small branded gift box.The chain with extender does feel very lightweight & against a 'genuine' gold necklace the plating is brighter 'yellow' toned, so if layering you may see slightly different golden tones among your chains.*in my photo I also have a short genuine gold chain on.The dainty pendant is a simple oval shaped ring that is not fixed in place, so you could if wanted slip it on another chain if perhaps you prefer a shorter one. I found even on the shortest chain setting the pendant fell a little lower on the chest than it looks on the sales model.The pendant is quite pretty, a double row of tiny stones along one side. The back of the pendant is plain gold coloured, giving the option to wear the plainer side for a different look.As with most things how long it looks good is somewhat dependent on the care. To prolong the longevity of the plating I wouldn't wear it while showering, or spraying perfume on the neck for example.It's a pretty necklace, of course it not heirloom quality but a nice costume piece to add a little understated sparkle.
