Pro-Ject Debut EVO 2 Turntable with Pick it MM EVO Cartridge (Satin Steel Blue)

I bought the Pro-Ject Debut Evo 2 and couldn't be happier with the purchase. I had the Fluance RT85, and the Evo 2 is a definite upgrade in quality. The Fluance was a good turntable which I enjoyed but the Evo 2 is simply engineered better ,and brings out the quality in my stereo system. I have a 2.1 setup and the separation and clarity from each speaker is clearly noticeable. It was also easy to set up (with the help of a You Tube video) and took about a half hour. The Satin Gray looks good and fits the look in my entertainment room. Kudos to Gramophone for the Black Friday deal!

Great update/upgrade for my home system. Sound is great out of the box and with a few minor upgrades (2m blue Ortofon, alum sub platter, grounded power supply) it really shines. Very happy.

Great Value; I didn’t expect the improvement to be so astonishing. My old turntable is a Pro Ject and I was happy with it but had to manually change the belt each time I wanted to play a 45rpm LP. The automatic switch is a key feature. And the sound is amazing.

This is a beautiful record player with decent features for the price bracket. It’s designed to be modular with many available upgrades but it sounds great out of the box!

I've been listening to records for 50+ years and I'm hearing clarity, balance, and detail in some of my records that I've never heard before. Had I known that spending $700 turntable could make this big a difference, I'd have done it decades ago. Setup wasn't effortless, but the instructions were very clear -- I really couldn't recommend this product any more highly.

This turntable, at $800.00, is a great buy. The table is solid, inert, and stable. The tonearm is the winner here. It is feather-light and responds well to a proper setup. The speed is stable and well-controlled. You would have to spend quite a bit more to get better sound and performance. Pro-ject has perfected the art of turntable builds, and there is a lot to be said for being crafted in Europe rather than China. It is a solid buy, and you can't go wrong. The one thing I may do after a period is change the cartridge. We will see.

This is my first record player so I have nothing to compare it to, but everything has been great so far aside from the needle drop lever thing is already having issues, in that it doesn't full descend to allow the needle to make contact with the record. Its also very pricey and fully manual, some things to consider relative to other record players you may be eyeing. Once a record is done playing, there is nothing to stop the needle from endlessly spinning, whereas other record players can lift the needle and go back to its starting position.

I must be having a midlife crisis because I just woke up and decided I needed to start listening to records again. I chose a price range, below top of the line yet above entry level. Then I researched what’s available. I watched YouTube videos, I used AI and read everything I could find. I picked this because it won on quality and the company’s story made up for my it’s “made overseas” worries. Putting it together was straightforward, although setting the tonearm requires some patience. Back to YouTube for a video from someone other than the manufacturer (who doesn’t cover it in depth on their unboxing video). The music sounds great, I love chilling to the same artists I listen to as a teen. Now it’s time to build an album collection. There’s something about going through the motions of playing a record that makes it so much richer than using a mouse to click on a song.

Der Debut Evo 2 von Pro-Ject ist unser erster richtiger Plattenspieler und hat die Erwartungen übertroffen. Dass Pro-Ject ein österreichisches Unternehmen mit Sitz in Mistelbach ist und die Plattenspieler hier in Europa fertigt, war für uns ein zusätzliches Argument – schön, wenn man Qualität aus der Heimat unterstützen kann. Aufbau und Einrichtung waren mit der beiliegenden Anleitung unkompliziert, auch ohne Vorerfahrung. In der Variante Walnuss Echtholz sieht er im Wohnzimmer einfach fantastisch aus – ein echtes Möbelstück, das sofort auffällt und Gesprächsstoff liefert. Klanglich sind wir mehr als zufrieden. Angeschlossen haben wir ihn über einen Phono-Vorverstärker an unser Sonos-System und hören damit Vinyl im ganzen Haushalt. Der Unterschied zum reinen Streaming ist schwer in Worte zu fassen, aber Platten klingen darüber einfach wärmer und lebendiger. Der Carbon-Tonarm und die elektronische Geschwindigkeitsumschaltung zwischen 33 und 45 Umdrehungen sind feine Details, die man im Alltag zu schätzen lernt – kein fummeliges Umsetzen des Riemens, einfach Knopfdruck. Die Verarbeitung ist durchweg solide und man merkt die österreichische Ingenieurskunst. Alles fühlt sich wertig und langlebig an, nichts wackelt oder wirkt billig. Natürlich ist der Debut Evo 2 kein günstiger Einstieg ins Thema Vinyl, aber wer sich bewusst für einen Plattenspieler entscheidet und nicht zweimal kaufen möchte, bekommt hier ein Gerät, das sowohl klanglich als auch optisch lange Freude bereitet. Wir möchten ihn nicht mehr missen.

Diseño muy bueno, buena calidad y muy buen sonido

Oggetto molto bene costruito, fine elegante ma soprattutto suona meglio di tantissimi altri giradischi blasonati. Rapporto qualità prezzo eccellente. Come tutte le cose che funzionano molto bene si può sempre migliorare con una testina cartuccia come la volete chiamare di livello superiore. Io presempio ho messo una Grado Gold oro e vi posso dire che è una bel matrimonio. Anche se la sua che danno in dotazione è sempre una signora Testina. Buon Acquisto. Top

The Debut EVO 2 gives an amazing entry into audiophile-quality vinyl experiences at a very reasonable price. The included MM EVO cartridge captures a solid range, with solid bass that doesn't drown out the mids, and a great ability to pick up the highs as well. The build quality is solid, and it looks absolutely beautiful in my setup. It took very little time to set up, and the included instructions were very clear, even for someone only just getting into the higher end of the hobby.
