App wants access to your contacts and media otherwise it refuses to work! The app and Osram's own app will also show you ads.Lighting companies, stop doing this, I will not give over personal/business information for you to scan/sale just to access a light I bought!Returned the same day as delivery.

Poor response with HomePod Mini.
I have a few Bluetooth HomeKit products but this is by far the most unreliable. For a start the App is a complete mess but is the only way to update the light’s firmware. It’s so badly implemented: you cannot have the light configured inside HomeKit AND in the app so you have to remove it from HomeKit (ruining all you Scenes and Automations), mess about switching the light off and on 5 times (yea I kid you not!!), add it in the app, update the firmware then add it back into HomeKit. What is that all about???!The response times using HomeKit and especially Siri is variable depending on whether you use your iPhone (best), HomePod (good) , AppleTV (ok) or HomePod Mini (poor). The latter is the worst - regularly reporting the light failed to respond. The mini is right next to the light in my setup, yet it still often fails. I logged a support call and they blamed Apple. So I logged a call with Apple and they blamed Osram/Ledvance saying they need to update the firmware. But there is no website telling you if there is new firmware, nor does their app tell you. So you have to go through the whole process described before just to check. So badly thought through.I wish I hadn’t thrown the box away as I would have returned this and waited for the Nanoleaf Essentials lightstrip with Thread to come back in stock. I may repurpose this elsewhere as a simple on/off lightstrip rather than a smart one as it’s just so poorly implemented.Oh, and the 3M sticker is hopeless. I have this light under a countertop and I have had to use gaffer tape at the ends and joints and parts where there are no LEDs to keep this fixed. Possibly the cheapest 3M tape chosen and not really strong enough to support the weight against gravity!

Good for what I paid for it
Don't be put off by the Works with Home Kit logo and the lack of Alexa and Google logos, it does work with them too.The star rating would be lower if the price I paid hadn't been so low.The instructions are quite lacking, they don't tell you how to set it up with an Android device or how to integrate with Amazon Alexa. After I figured it out, it works pretty well. It uses bluetooth to connect to an Alexa device, though this can be hit and miss. When I first set it up, it connected to my Echo show that is the furthest device from where I was. I reset it and then it connected to the nearest. Bare this in mind if you want to move it or your echo device that it is connected to.The brightness isn't as good as the Hue or the Govee lights strips that I have, but it isn't terrible. The backing tape is poor, I replaced it with some new double sided tape. I found it being in 3 x 60cm strips useful and the provided joining wire is longer and more usable than the one that comes with Hue.

Very disappointing
These lights are not fit for purpose… extremely unresponsive when initially setup with HomeKit so I decided to update through the app. This involved disconnecting the lights from HomeKit and reconnecting them through the app setup. When the update was complete the lights will no longer work with HomeKit! After resetting them a few times they will no now longer work with either HomeKit or their own app.

Does the job at a fair price
Having tried a generic iHaper light strip for HomeKit previously where the control box failed fairly quickly I wanted to try a known brand. This system has a white LED that helps with a cleaner/crisper light rather than rely on RGB.The downside of this offering is the Bluetooth vs WiFi control with slow operation, no on/off physical switch and the 3M tape seems much weaker than that iHaper. Time will tell if the control box lasts.

Stunning
I have tried a different, more expensive, home kit enabled strip light like this and unfortunately, it developed a fault. This being cheaper and working through Bluetooth over wifi especially when our wifi is intermittent lead me to buy this product. The whole package was easy to assemble and it comes with a large cable so you can really hide the plug. The connection to the home app was simple. I have so far created a few scenes to work with this product. I would recommend this product for those wanting a smart light strip at half the price of other competitors especially when some require a bridge.

Great value for an Apple HomeKit device!
+ Great price for an Apple HomeKit product+ Plug and play set up+ Good quality light+ Great range of colour+ Works seamlessly in Apple Home app+ Has strong double sided tape+ Can be separated into three smaller strips (only one length can be used at a time though)+ Each segment can be easily cut further to size if required- A little buggy if rapidly changing colour or brightness

Great value
Tried one due to amazing price for a HomeKit strip. Can confuse it into a not responding message in Home app if you change colours too quickly, never have this with my Hue bulbs.Nice and bright mind so at the price amazing value, at list price no thank you!Just shows a hub is likely better than Bluetooth.
