This 316L Surgical Stainless Steel captive ring is available in 20 gauge, 18 gauge, 16 gauge, 14 gauge and with the inner diameters of 1/2 inch (12mm), 5/8 inch (16mm), 3/4 inch (19mm), 7/8 inch (22mm) or 1 inch (25mm). Inner diameter is measured in a straight line across the inside of the ring. Captive rings are also known as ball closure rings. The ball is held in by pressure and hoop must be opened slightly to get ball out. Some of the heavier gauge captive rings (14 gauge and higher) may require a tool to get them opened to remove the ball. This dangle captive ring is suitable for cartilage hoops, helix piercings, tragus hoops, conch piercings, belly hoops. Not intended for use by children under the age of 14.
