Love this unit. Quite a bit of power on board. So far i have had success with scanning objects. Lets be honest though.. this is a powerful tool and there is a learning curve.. thankfully revopoint makes it easy to understand. Honestly, if i had the money... i would love to own the new Trackpoint from revopoint...or at least demo one..lol.... but the miraco.. is AWESOME. Would definitely recommend.

I'm still learning about cad, 3d printing, scanning and associated technical jargon, but this device is amazing. I was able to accurately scan a variety of objects with minimal instruction. After reading more about the scanning process on the internet, I've been able to get better scans with fewer mistakes. Also, I love that you can delete mistakes and start from the last good scan. The process is so forgiving. A machine that does a better job than this thing is an exorbitant cost, at marginal improvement. This is going to do everything I need it to with automotive applications, and more. Portability is the biggest convenience with this thing!

Please read current update: So far, we have been able to capture most of what we purchased this unit for. It struggles with dark, or shiny objects quite a bit, and it scans slower than we expected, but it seems to work "OK". The big issue is with the lights on it. When you are scanning in tighter areas where you need some light. I wouldn't recommend using the onboard lights. They drain the battery at an extraordinary rate. We were at 100% charge, and started scanning with the lights on, and we used 50% of the battery life in 30 minutes of scanning. That's a far cry from the up to 2.5 hours of scan time that it claims. Seems to me they should have opted for a little bit more weight, to get some better battery life out of this thing. Update: Revopoint is currently working with me on the battery life issue. I will updated this review as things progress. As for now the service from them has been stellar.

This is the first 3D scanner I’ve used. I bought this over the others because of specs looks like they were on par or better than the competitors but way more affordable. So I can’t say that this scanner is actually better compared to the competition but I can’t say that it is very easy to use as long as the surface isn’t reflective and that I now want to try scanning everything.

It would be 5 Stars, but the price is steep. Other than that it has worked easily and great imaging. Battery doesn’t last long and you can’t upgrade the storage, but so far I haven’t ran out of storage or battery doing a scan.

If you are looking for something in this price range the einstar Vega blows it out of the water.

Small learning curve but works very well for such an affordable scanner

This is by far the most user friendly scanner I have tried but wow you have to pay a lot So far I’m saying it’s WORTH IT

It's very much dependant on your need for a scanner and use case, but regardless of those considerations, this device is simply incredible for the money. The fact that you have an All-In-One scanner, that doesn't require the use of a dedicated PC to handle the rendering overhead, and is built solid enough to give me the confidence to use it outdoors, or in the garage, or out at the track, comes together to make this an extremely versatile and capable piece of equipment to add to my fleet. I'd been obsessed with it since launch and while I do appreciate the tech that the Einstar AIO has, this one just does what I need to and works for my specific needs just perfectly. Once calibrated, the scanner works surprisingly quickly depending on what it is you're scanning. Like all scanners, when working with a smaller object, having a/the multi-axis turntable makes all the difference and will give you a solid, stable all-angles scanning setup, once you've mounted the scanner to a tripod (you can also print and use gimbles, other stands and tripods to accomplish your goals). When it comes to larger parts/objects/vehicles/etc though, is where the Miraco Plus truly shines. It can take a while to setup your references, but once that is done, the rest of the shoot and scan proceedures are made very easy and manageable, with the amount of feedback you get from the OSD in realtime, and it's a darn nice screen at that! Distance sensors make it easy to manage your accurancy, and having such a large bright/well-contrasted display, giving you your results assembled right before your eyes, no wires or strings attached, is nothing short of amazing to me even still! It can take some figuring out when it comes to simplifying your point clouds in whatever application you're choosing to render with, but once you've got it figured, it's actually quite intuative. What sold me on this over every other prosumer level model on the market, is that you have infrared optical zoom built in, which allows the switching between a wide full scale initial point scan, and seemlessly switch to close up detailed scanning of the same subject, without losing tracking and point data. With all scanners, it definitely takes time to master the pace and movement required to get a full and detailed scan, but well worth it, given some of the results I've seen so far from it. I haven't had a chance to sit down and do any screen grabs of some of the scans yet, but as soon as I do I will update this review, but if you are debating this versus the (only other really in this price bracket) competition, bare in mind that they use very different technology to accomplish close to, but not quite the same things. The Miraco Plus is simply the more diverse choice, in the range of objects it can scan, because between the quad-lens infrared light scanning and the high res photogrammetry, the Plus actually doesd give you the ability to do very large scale parts and objects, down to something like a dime, in very high resolution and detail. Blue light laser is great in many indeally lit and surfaced situations and can cut down on excess points and such, but falls appart if you're working on somethin transparent, reflective or in poor lighting conditions. Infrared is much better suited for applications where you might be scanning outdoors or in odd ambient lighting or changes in lighting. It's also better at picking up(imo) on surfaces that have been prepped with scanning sprays (Revopoint's is quite good). Post-processing woes will come with most scanners, but I'd rather have the detail and resolution to work with than not, at the end of the day!

This 3D scanner with photogrammetry is not really a fast and easy to use tool that allows you to capture 3D scans in seconds. With small objects, the operation of the scanner is easy but tricky, with larger objects it takes forever to set up the reference points and even then the scan puts point clouds everywhere. I tried for three days all the options and methods and I got nothing good out of it. (My scanned objects were metallic and dark)
