Sonos is quite expensive, but you're buying not only high-quality audio devices but also the flexibility of being wireless for sound and the interconnectedness of all the Sonos devices. The Sonos app recognizes all of your various devices and makes it easy for them to work together. You can assign devices to specific rooms or, if you want, set up a home audio network where music is played everywhere. The Sonos app also integrates access to Apple Music, Amazon Music, or just the Sonos music that they offer. For a home theater, starting with a Sonos soundbar opens the door for adding other Sonos speakers and a Sonos subwoofer. The sound bar, while using the Sonos application on your smartphone, will recognize other speakers and a subwoofer in the room. You also can configure the speakers to work separately, or they can be part of a surround sound system tied to the Sonos sound bar. The nice thing about each of the system audio components is that individually, you can touch the component (a speaker or soundbar for example) and control the room sound level, so you don't always have to go to the Sonos app on your smartphone to do so. The moment I set it up (which took less than 10 minutes thanks to the simple HDMI eARC connection and the Sonos app’s step-by-step guidance), I knew this was something special. The 9.1.4 spatial audio with Dolby Atmos is simply jaw-dropping—sound doesn’t just come from the front, it feels like it’s coming from everywhere. Movies completely fill the room with action, and the Sound Motion technology places effects so precisely that you feel like you’re right in the middle of the scene. Dialogue is crystal clear thanks to the AI-powered Speech Enhancement—no more rewinding because I missed what someone said. Music is equally impressive, with rich detail, deep bass, and a soundstage that feels like a live performance. The elegant design blends beautifully with my living room—it looks high-end but doesn’t distract from the screen. Control is effortless too: I can use my TV remote, the Sonos app, or even just my voice with Alexa. Trueplay tuning made a noticeable difference, automatically adjusting the sound to my room’s acoustics. Streaming is seamless with WiFi, Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, and Spotify Connect—I’ve played music from every source without a hiccup. I eventually paired it with a Sonos Sub and Era 300 rears, and the surround experience is honestly better than some theaters. Plus, I love being able to expand to other rooms with Sonos speakers for whole-home audio. If you’re serious about home entertainment, this is the best soundbar you can buy. The best sounding sound bar I have ever heard bar-none. If you're using in a rather small space then you don't need the sub, but in a larger wide open area the sub is a huge plus. Yes it's expensive, but worth every penny in my personal opinion. If you have the money and/or willing to pay the cost, no need continue shopping. This is it.

We looked a long time when we picked this. There is a reason this is a consistently top rated soundbar. The sound is great. It does a good job creating immersive sound. The range is good with surprising low end. If you want really thumping low end you will need a sub. It works great via HDMI Arc and the app is competent for controlling the device. For reference this is connected with an LG TV and no issues. Remotes have no issue controlling the soundbar. The soundbar also has no issues waking up and turning on even when the TV powers down automatically or in an odd order. The CEC control is very good. If you want a gripe; the app is the remote. There is no physical remote. However, I thought that would be bad, but it’s not an issue. The app is good enough and the HDMI control is robust so you won’t even notice the lack of physical remote, and even be glad to avoid yet another remote.

I spent weeks studying surround sound systems trying to decide on passive or wireless. I kept coming back to Sonos with the Arc Ultra Soundbar as the foundation. During the recent Black Friday sale I purchased the Arc Ultra with two Era 300 surround speakers. I liked them so much, within a week I added a sub woofer and then two Era 100’s for a second room. I couldn’t be happier with the sound. I don’t watch many movies with Dolby Atmos and stick mostly to basic TV and sporting events and the surround sound is still very impressive. The soundbar is very powerful and is outstanding as a stand alone unit. Adding the other speakers has added the perfect touch. Now, I begin my day with music that plays all day throughout the house until it is time for nighttime TV. I grew up listening to music all day and it is so nice to have a sound system that offers a high level of fidelity. I didn’t know what I was missing. The set up was extremely easy. I had read that the Sonos app was not easy to use but that wasn’t the case. Once the speakers were plugged in, the app immediately added them to my WiFi and connected them to the Arc Ultra. I use the app to play from Apple Music and Sirius XM. It is very easy to control the sound and volume for each set of speakers. I am so glad I went with the Sonos Arc Ultra Soundbar and even more pleased to add the sub and two sets of surround sound speakers. I am also pleased that I didn’t go with a passive system that would require wiring for each speaker. I highly recommend the Arc Ultra but be warned, you will most likely immediately add the sub and surround speakers. I promise you won’t regret it!

Absolutely fantastic sound out of this bar. I’ve paired it with a Sonos Mini sub and Era 100s for the rears to make up a home theatre system. It doesn’t have the full front left to right separation you get with a dedicated Dolby 5.1 system, but still pretty damn good. The bar by itself has pretty decent bass and likely doesn’t need a sub for small rooms or apartments. Sound quality is excellent, and I’m regularly using it -and the rest of the speakers as a glorified Bluetooth speaker. Outside of the sound quality, the real stand out here is the set up. Works easily easy to set up all the speakers and link them. And I really like the overall wireless set up, so much better than running wires all over the place. The only thing that I have real criticism for is it only has one HDMI port. Personally, I think two or three would’ve been better so that you could add additional components. Overall, I’m really happy with it

I have been interested in the Sonos eco system for a while and also for years debating on whether I wanted to spend the money on a Sonos soundbar. After receiving an Amazon gift card I was finally able to justify the cost after it went on sale. The only thing I am disappointed about is how long it took for me to pull the trigger. This soundbar replaced an old Polk soundbar with sub. This soundbar was all I needed for a medium sized livingroom. I thought about getting a Sonos sub however I am glad I didn't. This soundbar has enough bass to fill the space. Very happy with this purchase and will look to get some surround speakers to complete the setup.
