The media could not be loaded. I bought this for my kids mainly because it was on sale and because they've never seen a lava lamp irl before. Not that I was keeping a lava lamp from them, they just never seemed interested in '90s kids fads. The first one that Amazon sent to me didn't work, the light worked and some of the lava moved about an inch or two above where it began but after 3 days of it being on it never moved even after slowly tumbling warm putting it back down it didn't work. So I replaced it, Amazon sent me one next day and this one worked beautifully. It took about a half an hour to warm up and then an hour to really get moving. Which is as expected. I got it for an amazing price it was 50% off so around $17. The water is kind of cloudy, I'm not sure if it's supposed to be because it's Halloween but it doesn't take away from the effect it makes it look more Halloween if anything else. I fell asleep last night staring at it so that was fun. The colors definitely orange and purple they look good together. The whole family loved it. FYI; The video I posted is sped X4.

After the wax warmed up in lamp it made all kinds of cool designs while waiting for the full warm. I'd say the wax melted in about an hour or so, then in like another hour it was flowing well inside. This was on a 72 degree day. My daughter loves it and stole it for her room. Lol now I need to get another one. Was packaged very well, and has a good amount of weight. This is not cheap plastic!!

This lamp did not function properly out of the box. It actually had instruction that said “if your lamp looks/functions like this - call us for replacement”Well we did. And no one answered. Waste of money and terrible customer service.

I actually purchased the Spencer's Galaxy Lamp first which was such a disappointment & my 13 year old son just wanted a lava lamp so badly (which in fairness he had no comparison to know otherwise) but he was willing to keep the 1st [Spencer's] one.... Until I used my mom card & returned it to order this Galaxy Schylling Lava Lamp AND NOW MY SON KNOWS WHAT A TRUE 'QUALITY' LAVA LAMP LOOKS LIKE😄 So the Spencer's lava lamp was damaged right out of the package/box, but the fact that it was merely a plastic galaxy wrap was just so cheap, besides the fact we received it torn around the cord insert already. Then the [Spencer's] lamp was quite foggy too (which other reviews had said too) plus the 'lava' barely moved about because it got stuck in a big plump at the top of the lamp so it could only really separate at the bottom😫😠 Nevertheless I returned the Spencer's $38 lamp & ordered this Schylling lamp for just $34 AND- IT- IS- AMAZING!!!! Maybe our experience wasn't or won't be the same as yours but I can say THIS [Schylling] is what Lava Lamp's were meant to be ! The design is painted on& looks awesome, the more cylinder shape allows for more even flow, it's very clear, crisp & even brighter. Bonus it even cost less & is slightly bigger. *the only flaw was that the lid/top piece does not quite fit on , it pops up about 1/4" so not sure what that's about. I'm hoping it will eventually stay down once we've pushed it down enough times. Oh yeah also.... the light bulb was not fully screwed in when we received it so we initially thought it didn't work (which I saw other reviews which said the same too) so might be worth trying if yours doesn't come right on too. So yeah otherwise so far - so good, but its only been 1 day for us lol

The top doesn't stay on, and it's very wobbly, and very unsteady. Fire hazard!

I love all kinds of lamps, including lava lamps. I have several that are over 40 years old.My fave color is purple - when I saw this, I loved it. When it arrived, it was not translucent at all - very cloudy - and after working with it a couple of days, it just wouldn't work.So, since it said to contact them, I did. They immediately sent me another one along with a label to send the original one back. Now, that's what I call great customer service.The new one wasn't cloudy at all. I set it up and even though it was slow, it began working just fine.I love it - really nice looking. Of course, I love that it's my favorite color. Watching it is very relaxing to me.I give loads of stars for their customer service. They really care about customer satisfaction. I have not been disappointed in any way!I'm very happy with my new lamp and recommend it.
