Great product! I did not have the heat turned up all the way and it melted a large piece of aluminum in less than 5 minutes. The size is perfect for the size of the ingot mold I was using The only negative I have is the gloves that were part of the kit. They were terrible. The tips of them burned through. I suggest purchasing a good set of leather welding gloves or a good pair of firefighters gloves.

The gloves only lasted through 1/3rd of the ingots shown. I RECOMMENED 1000 DEGREE KEVLAR 2. Ingot provided is TINY, see photos. 12kg is ~same volume as a cast iron bread pan. 3. The Fire brick provided for the crucible is in the condition shown after doing the ingot volume shown. 4. The tongs do not wrap around crucible as shown in photo. Tongs made for 18kg crucible. 5. The grips on the thongs are poorly secured. Pro: 1. Almost melted my stainless steel scoop spoon. So temp get hot, I have only done aluminum, but the heat temp is noticeable. 2. The adjustable gauge helps tone gas volume. 3. Very easy to assemble, operate AND pack up for storage. Upgrades recommened: 1. Gloves to kevlar, these will get you started though. 2. Ingot to cast iron bread pan.

I am impressed with this little furnace kit. It worked really well for the first burn and was easy to set up. It reaches melting point fairly quickly. My only real complaints are that the ceramic honeycomb tile was broken when it arrived and that the kit says it has everything needed (which it mostly does) but a set of pouring tongs would have been nice. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. I would change it to five stars if the seller replaces the broken tile.

Looks like a quality product upon unboxing. While I need to do some setup I am looking forward to using this in my future sculpture projects.

I bought a different single burner furnace gist and I was out side for hours trying to melt a small amount of copper and it didn't happen. I purchased this furnace and it melted the copper fast. I melted two bars in und 2 hours

OK, I have tinkered with this for multiple hours and figured out eventually how to make this thing work properly when you go to light the flame I would suggest taking a small stick or a piece of paper and putting it inside the actual container, then slowly turn the flame on, you will hear a small Roaring noise and that’s (the tornado flame). Then slowly turn the gas up until you reach kind of almost all the way open, DO NOT do this inside, have patience and eventually it will start to glow hot red. I also noticed these are the WRONG tongs, they are good quality but the wrong size, the gloves are alright, for the price it is good, also they need to add better instructions, not for putting it together but for how to safely light it etc.
