Majohn P139#8 Medium Nib Fountain Pen with Box, Brass Piston System Large Capacity Writing Pen, Black Yellow

Anyone who missed out on the dolce vita and the Hemingway should give this pen with a number 8 nib a chance, you will be seriously impressed with this modern interpretation of a classic fountain pen style! It’s not just a well executed style, but mine was well tuned and writes beautifully, a nib that I don’t have to tune is a rarity even with brands like Pelikan, Kaweco, and really most that don’t get tuned by retailers after production, so this level of quality control at all levels of the pen, impress me as a fountain pen user and collector of over 2 decades. This pen punches well above its price!

The good—the nib is lovely and smooth and the pen has a nice heavy weight that makes it easy to write with without being heavy-handed, posting changes the center of gravity in such a way as to make the pen feel lighter in the hand so there is some versatility for users preferring something a bit less weighty, the piston operates smoothly but I did find it needed to be left just slightly open to keep up with the #8 nib so I didn’t have dry starts.The bad—despite all the good points, I wouldn’t have bought this pen if I had seen it in person-the barrel isn’t white as the product pictures led me to believe, it’s glittery and the pattern on the band isn’t as refined in person as it is in the photos.I will use this pen for all it’s good qualities, I just wish it didn’t look like it was made for the unicorns and rainbows crowd.

This is exactly what I was hoping it would be. Ordered with the #8 nib. Its a large pen, with a great feel.

Was really amazed at how quickly she has become my daily writer in my current rotation. A very consistent and flowery flair that makes my words come to life! A pure joy ! Only thing it is surprisingly stout in hand, but I’ve adjusted quite quickly to this instrument ♥️

It looks like a Mont Blanc Hemingway, and writes just as well. Unbelievable value at this price!

An absolutely fantastic pen, and an incredible bargain. The nib is smooth as silk and the pen feels great in my hand. I now have 2 of them!
