Great compact travel palette for watercolor and gouache!
I'm so glad I ordered 2 of these on prime day! I travel a lot and like to take my gouache with me for painting. The wells are a perfect size for a palette and keeps my paint an ideal consistency. The paint is the same as it was when I set up the palettes 2 months ago. I like that there isn't cross contamination from leaking or dried crumbling paints I've found in other travel palletrs. I keep my paint in a wet like thin pudding state and haven't turned the boxes upside down or on their sides. They fit perfectly in my travel caddy stacked and compact. Two palettes stacked are only 5.25" wide x 7.75" long x 2.5" high.Other great features are: the silicone gasket that locks in place when the lid is locked down and comes off for cleaning, the six point locking system is tight so there's no risk of popping open, the compact scraper that has is own storage space to clean off the palette and clean out the wells, and the detachable mixing palette that locks in place. The only negative I have is the mixing palette has its walls on the outside when storing so you have to clean the palette after each use.

Leaks a little but I’m going to try what the 1st review did to stop the leaks.
I use this to carry my Dr. PH Martins watercolors in. The size is right and the wells are deep enough. You should know that there are a couple wells that are more shallow than the rest, but stilll workable. I like the concept, and believe that heating up the silicon mat will eliminate the leakage problem. I’ll write more when I have a chance to try it.This palette is perfect for the Dr. Martins 36 colors. Yes, I bought all 3 sets. There is a small mixing tray that is attached to the back. It needs to be unclipped from the back, but the label in the tray is opposit from the direction it needs move, to take it off, but is correct for attaching it to the palette (as is correct if your attaching to the palette for use). You’ll see once you try it. It’s a little flimsy and could break, so be gentle when removing and attaching the tray. I bought a tempered glass palette that I’m going to use.The tabs that lock the lid are also a bit of trouble. I wish there was some way to make them have tension so they wouldn’t flop around. There are six and they fall down and get in the way when you replace the lid back on the palette. You have to be very careful to get the lid to fit just right, but you’ll get use to that too. I would not fill the wells to the top, and one must be cautious not to push paint into a neighboring well to the sides or top and bottom, as it will be difficult to undo. You have to be deliberate when choosing your paint and loading the brush.Even with all the idiosyncrasies of this palette, I really like this thing. I am playing around with the idea of purchasing more for the other paint media that I have. I’ts a perfect size for travel, it is not a large paint palette, but should hold enough paint for 1-3 weeks of painting at a moderate pace and size for watercolors.

Great Quality!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Was super nervous ordering this palette. Had ordered a so called airtight case prior and the silicone liner expanded from absorbing moisture. This one cost more, but it’s constructed so much better. Wells are deep and hold a good amount of product, feels sturdy and best of all, the lining is not expanding. So far it’s brilliant!

It does not leak at all !
First let me say that I was very impressed with the performance of this palette. I have been looking on Amazon as well as going to my local art supply stores hoping to find a pallet that would not only keep my paints wet but would also keep them from spilling everywhere when I put them in my art bag. I use Dr. PH Martin’s Inks and although they are washable when they are wet they are almost impossible to remove once they have dried; so I felt this was going to be a good test for this palette. I placed a few drops of straight dye and a few drops of watered down dye into the pallet. I paid special attention to the placement of the silicone seal; l snapped each clasp making sure that it was correct. I put it in a Ziploc bag and purposely placed it on its side. After 30 minutes of moving around, walking, setting on the table and placing it on the floor; Putting it through the paces essentially. I found that it did not leak out of the container at all because of the silicone mat but, there were a few places where one color pan leaked into another color pan. Silicone can retain shape memory and that could have caused it to leak, so it would be best to rinse it with hot water and allow it to sit out with nothing on it for about 30 minutes before your first usage. It worked for me and I am happy to say that it does not leak at all now. I was so pleased with this pallet that I clicked on the item to re-purchase. I believe this will be a go-to pallet for most people. It is practical, conveniently sized, easy one hand stability, a color card for personalization purposes and the bottom plate can be used as a pallet. It’s a wonderful product and I would give it 10 stars if that was an option available.

Painting on the go
All my water colors traveled just fine with no leaking. The lid has a silicon liner that can be removed and washed up, used as my palette. I liked it so well that I ordered 1 for my acrylics and 1 for my oils to take on the go. Haven't found any negatives yet but I do I will add it to this review. It seals up tight and keeps your paint from mixing together. They don't dry out either to the tight seal.

awesome product
I have three of them and my watercolor paints are as wet as the day I put them in.... 3 months ago. I made a color swatch on thin paper and slid it under the silicone sealing mat so I can see the colors in that box. Will be buying more for my acrylics and oils.

Perfect for travel, school and general use. Well loved!
This was a requested item from the resident budding artist who saw it get many glowing reviews from YouTube art influencers. It was definitely worth the investment. The sliding piece on the back appears to be an additional blending board and was a little tricky to figure out but we got there. It doesn't leak. She likes gouache tube paints and was thrilled that she can travel with her working palette without smearing colors in a ziplock bag. I was impressed with the sturdy construction and thoughtful design. This is an excellent gift and really an attractive bit of kit for anyone who uses paints.
