RJ45 to RS232 Cable, DB9 9-Pin Serial Port Female&Male to RJ45 Female Cat5/6 Ethernet LAN Console（15CM/6Inch） 2Pack

As a utility relay tester, I often test digital protective relays "Sweitzer's or SELs" in the field, on utility poles out in the middle of nowhere. Using a simple network cable about 10 meters, this adapter set, and the SEL cable, it allows me to stay out of the rain and remote test, interrogate and program from my vehicle if I'm in inclement weather. Not getting my test set and my laptop wet. It's well worth the money. It makes my job easier; I'm less likely to get sick in the weather, damage the test set and/or the laptop. I highly recommend it to any technician or engineer who has to interrogate a digital apparatus with an RS232 9 pin serial com port. I don't see any issue with speed, error check, or performance through the front com port at 9600, 19.2 or even higher. The wiring internally maybe proprietary but I continuity checked it before hooking it into the first comm port and there were no issues, pin for pin straight through and invisible to the apparatus and to the Windows USB port. Works as intended.

I love this converter! I work in a survey industry running cat 5/6 everywhere to to send DB-9 data to a central hub. These are sturdy and work great. I love that one pack comes with a male and a female DB-9 end. The flexible whip is great for tight spaces with lots of cables. I have now bought multiple packs of these after buying one as they are perfect for my job! I have recommended them to my boss for full company use and would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for the perfect solution for DB-9 to RJ-45 connectors!

I needed a way to pass Ethernet through a DB9 "pass through" on a shielded test enclosure. This works perfectly and maintains the integrity of the shielded test enclosure (the built-in pass through does that of course, but I wanted to confirm that it did work and it does). I also tested the speed of the connection using a laptop running Windows 10 with a gigabit Ethernet interface and while connected using these two dongles it showed up as a 1 Gbps connection, sweet!

I bought these to use with my tone tester to trace cables on Navy Ships which if you don’t know can be impossible at times. I use them fairly frequently and I’ve never had any issues. I’m a retired Senior Chief Electronics Technician and spent 26 yrs in the Navy and now I’m a GS-12 working for DOD. I recommend these. They’re inexpensive and they work great.

well made and for the one need i had for a kinda long rs-232 cable for testing a controller, they worked. now that my testing is done, they'll sit in my "what am i gonna do with this now" box... probably forever. :-)

This is not EIA/TIA-561 or similar common pinout. These units can only be used when paired together. They cannot be used as you would any other similar adapter. RJ-45 Pin 1 <-> DE9 Pin 3 RJ-45 Pin 2 <-> DE9 Pin 2 RJ-45 Pin 3 <-> DE9 Pin 7 RJ-45 Pin 4 <-> DE9 Pin 8 RJ-45 Pin 5 <-> DE9 Pin 6 RJ-45 Pin 6 <-> DE9 Pin 5 RJ-45 Pin 7 <-> DE9 Pin 4 RJ-45 Pin 8 <-> DE9 Pin 1 The #2 item description ("This switch cable can be used to switch to the RS232 serial port. Funktioniert einwandfrei. Adapter funktioniert über Ethernetkabel, nicht über Ethernet. Aber das ist ja klar gewesen. Gute Ware.
