Wow, this is SOO cool! Very strong magnet!
So far I have not seen any cracks, but these other reviews have me worry! This is a VERY strong magnet. I tried it on my fridge, and it holds very strong. If you pull straight up, it will hold VERY tight. If you pull at an angle or slide it off, it will release fairly easily. It comes with a threaded eye-bolt and a carabiner. I have a 20 foot dog chain that will work perfectly with this!I plan on going down to my local pond and see if I can find anything cool! My son watches people magnet-fishing online and is so excited to try this out! Even if we only find old fishing hooks, it'll be good to clean up the water-way!

I think it's going to help....
I ordered this Mikede fishing magnet for a very specific application. A few weeks back I flipped my kayak while fishing (a long embarrassing story). In any case, there is now about $200 worth of my gear on the bottom of a local lake. We live out west and this is one of those lakes that is drawn down over the summer/fall to make room for snow melt in the spring. I lost the gear in about 30' of water and I wasn't in a position to take landmarks at the time so I'm not exactly sure where it is. The lake has already been drawn down about 10' since I lost the gear so I've been heading up there once a week to see if I can spot my gear as the lake goes down. I brought the Mikede last week and the only metallic item I could visually see turned out to be a beer can when I placed the magnet right on it and there was no “stick”. I've tested the magnet on ferrous metals and it is nicely strong for the size. Not 200 lbs strong, but it is clearly strong enough to lift my rod/reel combo, two fillet knives, pliers, forceps, braid scissors, scale, and maybe even my GoPro (via the metal hardware). Yeah, embarrassing. The $11 price point seems like a very reasonable investment in trying to get my gear back. Hopefully I will be able to file an edited review in the next few weeks with photos of my recovered gear, right? Four stars for now.

Not quite a 200lb pull magnet, but good
MIKEDE 200 lbs Magnets for Fishing, Strong Neodymium Fishing Magnets, Diameter 1.73 inch.Strong magnet but not 200lb (on dry land?) maybe water buoyancy makes a difference.I got to 60lb on a flat surface deadlift in my garage, securly picked up a 15 lb mushroom anchor (on land) as well when testing, very impressive for a little magnetThe magnet without the casing measures close to 1 3/8" in dia.Amazing the amount of junk we retrieved off my brother and laws dock that had deposited over the years (nothing valuable yet) but nice to clean up the lake bottom a bitHave been keeping it in the boat just in case. All and all happyVery good price point

powerful magnet
This thing is powerful. I tested it to see how far away a refrigerator magnet needed to be for it to be pulled to it...the fridge magnet flew out of my hand and shattered on the magnets surface. I couldn't really test if it held 700 lbs or not, but that doesn't matter because I didn't need it to. I work in a warehouse and the walls are metal - so anytime you want to hang something it needs to be magnetized. I am using it to hang a whiteboard...which works! Just know where you want this thing to live before you place it because it is not coming off easily!

Very strong, concerned about the magnetic surface
This is a very strong magnet, the eye fits in it well and the carabiner creates a nice attachment point. My concern is that the surface of the magnet will not hold up long-term as it already seems to have a crack from the factory (see photo).

Definitely NOT able to hold 200 lbs.
I believe they added too many zeros on this one. This magnet can hold/pull only about 40lbs., no more. The magnet is about 1 1/2" across at the widest part, the rest being the frame of the holder it's mounted in. If you have a solid fully flat attachment to an object, it could lift about 40 lbs. But, if the object has points and smaller surfaces then the magnet comes loose easily. For instance, if you attached to something like a fishing reel in the water, because it's only got small pointed surfaces to connect to, you'd likely lose it, or, you'd have to finesse the object to your hand. The carabiner when attached on its side, the large loop end, takes a lot of pressure to release. But if you attach to the curved end, not on its side but at the point, it pops right off.It comes with a nice screw-closing carabiner though. The carabiner comes off of the magnet quite easily.I'd only use this for small lightweight objects.

It's a really strong magnet, lifted both my anvil and stump with it!
The media could not be loaded. I don't know if it will lift 700lb, but it picked up my 66lb steel anvil and the solid oak stump it's mounted to. Altogether they weigh about 250lb. I'm pretty sure if this magnet gets stuck to something underwater that weighs 700lb your going to need to buy a new magnet because I'm pretty sure it won't let go no matter how hard you pull on it by hand. Might swing it from the pallet forks on my tractor and see if I can get it to pick up the big 66" steel bucket. I think it weighs in at around 650lb. Not really necessary as there is no way I can lift that much weight without the aid of a machine. I had to use a rubber mallet to knock the magnet off of the anvil after this test. With 4 or 5 of these I could provably pickup a car. I haven't taken it out "fishing" yet, but I think I'm going to need a good strong rope.

Stong fishing magnet
This a stong magnet. 2 issues is the magnet came broken but does not seam to effect its performance, and the connection to the magnet needs some kind of thread lock (feels like it loosens). I have used it to check the canal behind my house for anything metal. Just get a rope and go fishing.
