well my dog hears it and comes back ok but its not very loud and the lip area is small...

Not quick as smoothly as a well Meade hand crafted whistle, you can see where bits have been cut to make joins and the edges are a bit rough, but for the price, it’s very good.Each whistle will be slightly offering but found that it needs quite a forceful blow to sound properly, but when you do it’s very loud and crisp. Ideal for out on open hill/fields.

This is a beautiful item with great craftsmanship and clear loud noise - my weimaraner comes running. I was devastated when lost my previous whistle, which i had bought for double the price and it was not as loud as this one so am very grateful to have been able to find a new and better one.

I have had a stag horn whistle for around forty five years. It now has a slight split in the mouth piece, It still works fine but i thought it may be time to get another just in case it decides to give up the ghost. This one is very similar to my old trusty whistle and it will be there when my old one, if ever, packs up.The sound travels for a long way and it looks better than a plastic one.They say that you can replace the plastic ones with one of the same pitch if you lose it. Personally i prefer the unique whistle that my dogs know and no one else has the exact same sound.

The whistle looks nice, even though it wS bigger than expected. I took it with me on my walk and found it hard to make it whistle which was a problem because I needed to get my dogs attention straight away and could not do that. I have a sore throat now from having to shout instead of using the whistle. Maybe I need to practise using it. So far I am disappointed but o will practise using it before I use it with my dog. My dog is trained to come to 3 pips of a whistle. I will have to go back to the plastic one until I can get this one to work

Sturdy whistle and well made. My dog, however, is terrified of it! Nothing wrong with the whistle, but he responded better to the "silent" high pitched metal whistle (now broken) which this has replaced. Persevering with rewarding him if and when he comes back on recall.
