Great addition to my book shelve!
I love how easy it is to find words that I need, the variety of words in the thesaurus to help with my academic writing. Perfect gift for a 11 year old who loves reading and word assignments

Great double pack
Bought this for my 10 year old that is about to sit her 11+ next year. She has learned how a dictionary works and how it differs from a Thesaurus. She has used the set to practice Vocab questions and look up words she doesn't know or understand from her reading books......and I wanted her to do something real, rather than go on the ipad and look it up on google. The two together makes for excellent value!

The only books you'll need
Absolutely brilliant. With a bit of thought, you never need to buy another book as all the words are in this. Just need to put them in the right order - like a jigsaw!

Great books but not suitable for younger children
Bought for my daughter for her home learning during lockdown but found the dictionary is not really suitable for children due to it containing 'swear' words. I may be being a little naive but I did not realise that they printed swear words in them! (Quite strong ones too!) You live and learn I suppose!

exactly what you expect
Former President Trump declared "I went to an Ivy League school. I'm highly educated. I know words. I have the best words, I have the best, but there is no better word than stupid. Right?". Well, the Collins dictionary give you access to an assortment of words to rival even his at the fraction of the price of an Ivy League School. The Colins Thesaurus is also very useful and while there may indeed be no better word than "stupid", you will be provided with fifty-seven alternatives, such as dense, dopey, thick as mince, irresponsible, nonsensical, fatuous, puerile, crass and asinine among others. Thoroughly recommended.
