If you don’t YOU WILL LOVE IT ANYWAY! Great story… CHECK! Amazing performances… CHECK! Incredible period detail… CHECK! Everything about this movie is amazing and it doesn’t have to be Christmas to watch it which is why I bought it. I’m history buff and I have issues with suspension of belief, but even though I know it takes a creative license it doesn’t matter because it’s such a wonderful movie. If I’m feeling low or had a bad day I watch this movie because it always lifts my mood! Don’t wait until Christmas, especially if you have kids, this movie is a delight!

Even if you were Scrooge you would like this movie about Christmas, about families, about challenges, about creating timeless stories. The scenery was beautiful. The actors were well cast. The people were memorable. We were left uplifted! A must see for most people.

I enjoyed this movie. It’s the story of how Charles Dickens came to write the famous novella A Christmas Carol and the impact of this work that reminded people to open their hearts to the less fortunate during the holidays. Watch this movie and gain a new perspective on Charles Dickens. In this movie, Dickens is a famous young author struggling to pay the bills. Haunted by the poverty he experienced in childhood, he plans to write. He is and publish a story about Christmas in just a few weeks. At the time, Christmas is not the widely celebrated holiday it is today, and no one can imagine a novella about Christmas is worth publishing, even when written by the one of the famous authors of the day.

A story about Charles Dickens and his struggles with writing A Christmas Carol. Well done. Wonderful movie to watch at anytime of the year.

Daniel Stevens is great in this slightly comical drama about the creation of A Christmas. I've watched this movie several times, both during the Christmas season and in the summer. Enjoyed it each time.Original, fun and free of foul language, violence and sexual content. A pleasure!!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

This is just a great story all around. The actors portrayed their characters very well and how it showed the author envisioning his stories is unique. It has become a holiday movie staple.

I do like Christmas movies. Very much so. It was a day in May 2019. just a few days from my wedding anniversary and my wife and I had rented this movie to watch while we were on our wedding holiday in Maui. We decided to do something that wouldn't cost too much and with our hotel room window open, and a nice breeze blowing, we started the DVD. It took just ten minutes to dive into the movie, "The man who invented Christmas". If a movie is going to take hold of your imagination, it must do so within the first 15 minutes. This movie had, both my wife and I drawn into it. More over when each character was discovered. Both of us were on the edge of the bed when Charles was attempting and successfully discovered Scrooge. This movie had several story lines to keep us entertained. The characters in "A Christmas Carol", Charles' finishing and publishing his book prior to Christmas to Charles' story of him and his family as a young boy and the issues that he and his family had while had during his childhood.The movie was thoroughly entertaining and the cast was excellent. Christopher Plummer was an excellent choice for Scrooge. It was so good, that both my wife and I wanted to and did, watch the movie again! With nothing more than a 10 minute intermission.As much as I wanted the movie to continue and develop the characters, that was not what this movie was meant to be. Each character was developed exactly to the needs of this story. The movie was meant to show how the novel "A Christmas Carol" came to be. Honestly, if it wasn't for this novel, it's possible that Christmas would be quite different from the festive holiday we now know.To the entire crew of the movie "The Man Who Invented Christmas" I tip my hat and recommend this movie to start off the Christmas season!May G*d bless us, everyone.

We all know the Christmas Classic - A Christmas Carol - but you'll appreciate it so much more when you watch this delightful tale of the creator and how his writer's imagination plucks from his real life experiences to create a timelessly universal tale!How much is based on truth I don't know! But I am certain Mr. DIckens would enjoy this wonderfully joyful version of his creative journey!A must watch during the holidays and anytime during the year when you want to be inspired by life! :)

I thought it was a very nice christmas movie, it has an unique take on the christmas carol.

Leider hat die DVD den Ländercode 1 (USA &Co) statt Europa (Code 2). Eine Rücksendung wäre kostenpflichtig und würde über 13 Euro kosten. Warum wird soetwas überhaupt nach Europa verschickt?!Der Film ist toll. Der beköme 5 Sterne.Die Bewertung bezieht sich ausschließlich auf die falsche Zuweisung!

This is a different take on "Christmas Carol", i really enjoyed how gentle it flowed, i have put this on my yearly Christmas movie watch list, more grown up than home alone and not a hallmark type Christmas movie. 10/10
