This is a good alternative or addition to a birthday card. I bought it for someone in their 90s, and they loved reading about the details of their birth year. It’s more interesting than a regular birthday card.

This booklet was nicer than I anticipated. It had about 5-6 pages of nostalgia. It makes a greatcard-gift for someone. I am glad I bought it.

My mother-in-law turned 100 recently and we used this as a table decoration at her party. As soon as she saw it she sat down to look through the illustrations in the book. She talked with the other family members about her memories of her growing up years. This was very special as she was an orphan and has very few mementos from her childhood.

Great gift to give someone to remember that special year and full of fun details and genuine ads of the time. Only 4 stars given because it does NOT come with an envelope as stated in the description. Not that big of a deal, but if it says you get an envelope, you should get one. It also would have been a nice touch when giving it to the recipient.EDIT: I contacted the seller and they requested my order # and said that they will "take care of it." If I receive the envelope i'll revise my review to 5 stars.

My mother-in-law's 100th birthday celebration is coming up and I saw this card and thought it was perfect. It arrived and was better than I anticipated. The colors are beautiful, the events are interesting to read, and it will be a hit at the reception we're having as people can stop and read it. I'm so glad I purchased this. Don't hesitate, it's worth it!

Surprised to see so many negative comments about this! The page clearly indicates that it is a small pamphlet/card for birthdays and other special occasions. Considering it’s not actually that much more expensive than other greeting cards, I think it is completely worth the price. You get several pages of news headlines from the year you select, and there are 3 pages to write on at the end. Personally I got this as a birthday card for my boyfriend, who is a huge history buff, and he thought it was fantastic. This is something he can actually keep unlike other birthday cards that end up in the trash anyway.
