Great product/ affordable price
I thought this was a horrible product since I first couldn't pair it to my wifi.Emailed customer service regarding my problem, no response, so I had to figure this out on my own. After doing a bit of investigating, it wasn't the switch that's bad, it was the app.The Smart Life app for whatever reason couldn't sync my device to the wifi. So I installed the TuyaSmart app instead and my switch was paired in seconds. Very responsive. The switch itself is like any other toggle switch. However if you try to manually turn your lights on/off it will be a little delay though. But it's just fine for me. I like the indicator light. I thought it would be green for on and red for off, but it's the opposite.

Great for use with Echo or as a timed switch
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I purchased this to use as a timed switch to turn on my outdoor lights. The integration with the Amazon Echo is just icing on the cake. Simple install (ensure you have a neutral, hot, ground, and load setup where you are installing) as a DIYer or for an electrician. So far, so good!

Great product and value backed by solid customer service
I would highly recommend this switch. For my pickiness, it was one of the nicer looking switches. The other BIG plus is that it uses the (seemingly) most popular Smart Life app to control it. The app is used by many companies, so you don't get tied in to using one company's products. The Aicliv switch, with the free Smart Life app, controls your wall switch over wifi and mobile on smart phone and tablet devices. Of course, you can also control it, at the light switch, by simply pressing it to turn it on or off. While I was not familiar with the company, the reviews were solid and it met electrical safety standards that U.S. households must follow, which is a must as far as I am concerned. It also works by voice control with our Amazon Echo.It was very easy to install with minimal electrical experience. Basically, you turn off the power and match wires to colors that should already exist in most modern wired homes. You will likely have the red wire from the switch paired with a black wire within your outlet box. By process of elimination, it's easy to figure out. It is listed as the Load wire on the diagram in the instructions you receive with the switch. That will be the wire that leads to whatever fixture you are looking to control. This is typically the wire that leads out of the top of your wall outlet box, for a fixture that is in a ceiling. If you don't know for sure, ask someone who does! It took me about 15 minutes with my average skill level. It was also the first ever wifi enabled switch I have installed.Once installed, it works great. Now, I can control our downstairs light from anywhere inside the house or anywhere in the world via the Smart Life app. That makes it nice when going down from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor in the morning to feed our pets....or when we are out and are getting home later than expected, after natural light is gone for the day. Some quick set-up notes for those who purchase this switch:1) After you download the free Smart Life app from the app store (we have apple devices, but it works with google as well), be sure to remember which login ID you use -- either phone # or email. When you "Add device" via the "+" sign in the upper right, be sure your mobile device is using the same wireless as the switch. Click Wall Switch, then Other (for manufacturer) to begin the add device process. For me, the Smart Life app came back as my set-up didn't complete, but when I went back within that same app, the wall switch was there and worked.2) To work with Amazon Alexa app and Alexa voice control, you MUST use the same username/password combo for the Skill of Smart Life that you add in the Alexa app as you used in the set-up of the Smart Life app. This is where I screwed up and where the incredible patience of the Aicliv team, via email, stood with me through a series of back and forth emails, even sending me videos to support the words. Replies were typically very quick, often within the same day or next day, at latest. For clarification of voice control set-up, you will need to download 2 free apps on your mobile device for voice control: the Smart Life app (which you already should have downloaded to control the wall switch via mobile and tablet devices) and the Alexa app. Within the Alexa app, under menu drop-down in upper left, you will choose "Skills & Games". From there, search for Smart Life and then download/link it. With that, your Alexa should automatically or be ready to "search for devices".You can have these apps on as many of your mobile and tablet devices as desired. I believe these are even available on desktop computers now. I know for sure Amazon Alexa app is.Please note, that this particular wall switch works for wall switches controlled by only one switch. So, for those novices, if you can turn on/turn off the light (or whatever the wall switch controls) from one area, you are all set! If you have, for example, a light that can be turned on/off at two different locations within your place, then this is not for you. This is not a shortcoming of this company's product. It, like many other wifi wall switches is designed to be used this way. Other products exist for those people who have lights or whatever that are controllable by wall switch in two locations. Thanks Aicliv for a SOLID product at a price point that saved me some bucks!

Many operational and switch plate fit issues over time
At one point, I had replaced around 6 standard switches in my house with this model AICLIV smart switch. Numerous problems were found over the last 2 years.1) I found that most of the AICLIV switches bind with industry standard plates from Leviton, Lutron, etc. This sometimes causes the switch to stick, reset, re-enter programming. This can be a real problem when replacing a switch that uses a two or three position wall plate - unless one takes about 5 minutes or so to file out the side of the wall pate opening where the AICLIV switch goes.2) I replaced two switches in a row in a dining area that were controlling low wattage LED lights, because, after several months of operation, each switch would cause the lights to flicker when energized.3) In still another location, a bedroom, I replaced three switches in a row because after a while, two switches would reset without reason every couple of weeks, losing its connection with the smart phone app and Alexa. Each would then have to be reprogrammed and re-joined to groups. As time went on, each switch would reset with increasing frequency until replaced. On the 3rd switch, the relay seemed to fail less than a year after being installed. The indicator lights would indicate the switch turning on and off; however the lights would not turn off.I had great hopes when I first started using the AICLIV switches. Over time, the reality has not been so great. I am still committed to Smart Home - just not so much with this particular switch.

WIFI Light Switch
Did this install myself and found it was straight forward. Be sure to turn off the circuit breaker or hire a certified electrician if you're not familiar or comfortable with this type of install. The wires and back of the switch were labelled well enough and the instructions were okay.Once the switch was powered I held the switch down for 5 seconds to enable pairing, then using my phone and the Smart Life app I added a device providing the WiFi password and name for this switch. It then completed the install and configuration. I was able to control using my phone and Good Home. The entire exterior is plastic so be sure to connect the ground line (which you should always do anyway). The LED is red when the switch is in the on position and green when the switch is in the off position. I find the green LED bright and could be annoying if you like the room dark at night with no light at all.Security - These WiFi connected things are very tiny computers so they run software which needs to be maintained by manufacturers; many of which don't do enough to secure things. Be sure to secure your network by separating these devices from your trusted devices like your PC/Mac/Tablets. A WiFi network dedicated to your IOT devices is a good start.

Awesome !!
Bought the 2 pack. They have been working excellent. The app communicates with the switch instantly to turn on/off and the timer function works perfectly - exactly what i wanted. Hooked it up to backyard lights and front lights so they can turn on/off automatically. Can be used for pot lights as well.Wiring is not hard at all. Simple if you follow directions and turn off your electricity before hooking.Next, connecting switch to your internet router is alittle tricky. Connects only on 2.4ghz network because it offers a longer range. One of my switches is at the rear of the house on 1st floor and it connected with my router being on 2nd floor.. Most routers these days are setup to use 5ghz, but there is an option to turn ON both. You need to login into your router and change the settings first....its not hard. I think this is where people give up if you have no knowledge of routers/internet etc.I've tried powering off the routers and back up to see if the switches connect back automatically...and they did.Satisfied with the product.

Regularly disconnects from wifi.
Works OK if for timer only. Installed in room with strong wifi signal (I can watch HD Netflix on wifi in the same room), but the switch regularly disconnects from wifi, seemingly randomly. It’s hooked up to an outdoor light and I use it mainly for the timer function which, once programmed, functions fine without a wifi connection.
