It's time to move on!
I loved the four first books in the Cedar Cove series. The fifth and sixth started to become a tiny bit repetitive and this seventh felt exactly that.A lot of space - and time - is used to get up to date with the characters and their previous doings, which makes for a lot of repetition. I simply think the series should be based on reading the books in correct order; it seems impossible and somewhat amputated, in spite of the catching up, to start with, as in this last case, book 7!Debbie Macomber writes well. Both the invention of small town Cedar Cove and the many interesting characters, who after a while seem almost like old friends, is excellent. I only think this series has gone on for long enough. Not only the up to date information in this book, but also further developments in peoples' lives, seemed repetitive. As if one had read it all before. Many readers call the Cedar Cove series a soap opera. I think it's much above that, but at this point I may agree somewhat. A true sign of soap operas is that after a substantial number of episodes, they seem to go back to the beginning and start all over again.Book 7 left many questions unanswered, but I'm not overly keen for the answers. Linnette and Pete? Probably. A new baby for Megan? Probably. Will Troy get his Faith in the end? Probably. And so on.It's been an enjoyable stay in idyllic Cedar Cove but by now I'm ready to move on.

This book, at times, got confusing. With trying to keep up with all the different characters and who belonged with which family made this book longer to read. But after some time, I enjoyed the direction it went and made me want to read more.

really enjoying this series!
Look the characters in this series. Glad Linette's saga is continued even though she's left Cedar Cove. Each chapter bounces from one character to another but I don't mind it. Keeps you interested and the book isn't bogged down with minor details. This book is a lot about Teri and Rachel from Get Nailed. I enjoyed it just as much as the previous books. Now Hallmark has started a tv series loosely based on the series (and i mean loosely - changed several characters story line and relationships.) Then again when is a movie or series ever as good as the books. So I recommend the books but jury's still out on the tv version.

A wonderful way to take a break and while away some ...
A wonderful way to take a break and while away some time in the fantasy village of Cedar Cove. Although there's very little of Olivia, my favorite character, in this installment, the story keeps the reader's attention with a diverse assortment of other residents, and an ever-changing plot. One can't help but empathize with their romantic and familial problems, and they're all so gosh-darn wholesome (except for the villains). This is perfect reading when you're too busy to be absorbed in more classical literature, but you want something entertaining for your lunch break, waiting-for-the-repairman time, or bedside table. All of Debbie Macomber's books are fun and cozy to read during the busy holiday season that's upon us, perfect for that coffee of teatime break. Cheers!

Macomber Magic
Another slice of Cedar Cove Life, meeting new characters, hearing the ongoing stories of previous characters. Can be read as a stand alone book but the stories just keep rolling on. Debbie Macomber is a prolific writer, with many series of books to her name, but this is loosely based on her home town in Washington State, makes you want to visit!!
