First off, the mini usb included in the package is about 3 inches long. This more or less means you need to purchase another cable unless you intend to have the docking bay hang off your wall. Speaking of the docking bay, the retaining clips are horrible. They are undersized and dont keep the probe actaully docked, meaning that when you're trying to charge it it keeps popping out, I've resorted to putting a coffee cup, or something else heavy on top of it, to keep the probe in the bay. Even with the coffee cup maneuver, the probe only connects and charges about half the time. Now that we've wasted half a day trying to get this thing to charge we can finally start actually using it. Oh wait, I cant take my phone more than 2 feet away from my smoker without losing reception and the temps are constantly off. I took duel measurements with a handheld thermometer, and this thing read routinely 15-20 degrees low. Add to that a clunky app that crashes routinely, great.This probe is totally worthless, save your money.

The temperature reading has been off by at least 10-15 degrees everything I tested the product.This product also feels like it was made with very cheap material.To top things off, the mobile app freezes on me on occasion.WOULD NOT RECOMMEND. There are better wireless thermometers out there.

You have to be standing close to device for it to register. I have the igrill device which is a wired device from oven to a unit outside but it will send a signal to my phone virtually anywhere in my home. This does not... (Maybe if I bought the bridge to go with it?? But that is another $100+). The idea of this is awesome, just poorly executed. I bought it for my husband for Father's Day who uses a grill and smoker constantly, so this was huge, but he read up on the inconsistent temperature ratings which made him want to use his more faithful products.Beware of the return shipping... if you buy the product it is PRIME and free to send but should you return it, you will be charged $7.00

I wanted this thermometer to work and it does, however the Bluetooth connection would not work with the lid closed on my weber bbq. Also directions are basically none existent. Had to lift the lid on the bbq to get a reading on the app and leave my phone next to it. Also seemed the iphone app worked better that the ipd app. Anyway if you bbq a lot with the lid open or have a thin walled lid it might work OK. Just boxed it up and its on its way back.

Always wanted to cook a prime rib roast but was always to afraid to give it a try as I never wanted to screw up an expensive cut of meat.Looked up some recipes and saw this MeatStick so I thought I'd give it a try. Had my friends over for dinner the other day and everyone loved it!Gotta say the range wasn't great but it worked when I was nearby and I didn't need to open the oven. As it took a few hours, had my friend download the app on his phone while I left my phone nearby and it worked just as advertised.Was able to easily watch the temps as we played games in the living room. His phone actually went off in the middle of an intense game of charades. 100% would've overcooked it if it weren't for the meatstick!Did wish the range was better so I could've kept my phone on me while in the living room though. - 1 star for that.

We returned this product because it did not work well with our grill. Once you closed the cover, the thermometer would no longer connect to the app. It appears the Bluetooth signal was not strong enough. It also didn't work over a very long distance. If you moved your phone more than a few feet from the thermometer, it disconnected. We have wireless headphones that allow us to listen when our phone is on a different floor of the house so clearly it was an issue with the thermometer.

Billed as a "true wireless meat thermometer" this product does not work as advertised. Turns out that if you want a true "blue tooth thermometer", you have to spend another $70-80 for the bridge so that it can reach your phone. After back and forth with the company I was told to try any other blue tooth and I would have the same issue since I was 15-20 feet away and had 2 walls between me and the grill. WRONG!! I bought a less expensive iGrill from Weber and it works perfectly. Save your money and NEVER buy anything from this company. Not only does the product not work as advertised, their support will lie to you and basically tell you all you have done wrong and that every other product works the same way.

I purchased this product on a whim-- I had never made a steak before. I've always been scared of overcooking my steak and ruining an expensive cut of meat. I tried the MeatStick for the first time tonight and it was way easier than anticipated! I had watched the video posted on youtube and followed the directions for the "Reverse Sear". I inserted the MeatStick in the steak, popped the steak in the oven at 300 degrees until the internal temperature reached 120 degrees, then cooked it on the stovetop in butter until the app told me to remove it from heat! It was such an easy process and I'm very excited because now I can cook a steak without fear! I can't wait to try the lamb and seafood options!Tips: 1) start the app BEFORE charging the MeatStick 2) For the reverse sear option, choose "Grill", not "Oven" 3) if you mess up and choose the wrong recipe, put the MeatStick back into the charger to reset it so you can choose a new recipeNow, GET GRILLIN'
