Avid cyclists review
Price point dependent, these are very nice shorts. I have about 400 miles use on them now, plus about 10 spin classes. My impressions; * Great for the price. * My typical daily training rides are 60-ish miles. No problem at this distance. Cannot say they will be good or bad for the 100 mile days... have not tried yet. But I have other 'name' shorts that have not done well at that 100+ mile ride points. So spending $120 on a pair of shorts does not always guarantee you they will be good shorts for the really long days. Cons: * They have this rather wide elastic waist, what seems like a rubber band, sew into a pocket that is the circumference of the waist. Problem is... that 'rubber band' thing is free floating in that sew shut pocket, and can curl over on itself. It is an annoyance, but not a show stopper. But they need to chg that design * The spandex fabric is almost a 'brushed' type of spandex vs the 'shiny' type of spandex. It is comfortable, a softness to it, but not sure how long the durability will be. I have areas that on the 1st ride have created those sort of mini rolled up lint balls in any of the contact areas. They don't seem to have gotten any worse than they got in the 1st 50 miles of use... so we'll see. As FYI... I did buy 2 pair. So I had enough faith in these after a couple hundred miles of use to buy another pair. If nothing else, they will certainly be adequate for a winter's worth of spin classes 3 times+ a week.

Really nice for the price. 4 1/2 Stars is really the right rating
I've been riding on those "other" shorts, you know, the ones with a name like jewels from Japan. They have always been pretty nice. But the most recent pairs were different. A big piece of foam chamois. Felt like wearing a diaper. Pricey. So, I tried these. They are also a big foam chamois, but it fits & feels way better, both off & on the bike. The foam is exactly in the right places. Yes, they are heavier in total than the other ones, but once they are on, who really cares? They seem to be quality made, comfortable over longer rides, and after a couple of months, holding up very well. Colors: Ordered a dark blue, and it is. Ordered a dark grey, but its' damn near black. Just saying.

Extremely comfortable
I ordered two pair of these on the first day of Amazon Prime Day, and I was fortunate enough that these came before prime day ended to order a third pair. I own these in olive, navy, and black and I love them. Before these, I only had 3D bike shorts. Admittedly, I didn’t realize there was a difference between 3D and 4D (the latter having a bit more padding), so the extra cushion was welcomed. I usually take 30 mile rides once a week. The material feels like my some of my favorite pair of running tights, so much so that I looked to see if they made those as well (apparently they don’t ðŸ˜). Some people might think the material is too thick, but to me it feels great on the skin. It has a small grip section at the end of the legs to keep it from sliding, but I have big thighs, so I doubt these would slide up on me without them. Fitting: I am 6’2, 210lbs. The XL fit me well (this is the same size a wear in Nike half tights if that is a decent reference point to anyone). Comparison: at the same time I bought these, I bought a pair of Sponeed biking shorts. They have thousands of reviews on Amazon. I thought the padding of those were much too wide and it rubbed my thighs. I hated that feeling. I didn’t get that with these. Plus these have perforations in them that allow you to move a bit more freely (see photo - blue padding are these, green are Sponeed). Highly recommend these!

They fit, they work.
These are a good fit and have good padding. It has a high, thick waist band. It does roll over a bit, but not as bad as my last Pearl Izumi Select bike shorts. That really just means I have got some work to do, and they probably will not. As another reviewer said, they run small, so I being a normal large, I ordered the XL, and it fits. Great replacement for my Large Pearl Izumi Select shorts. Edit:I am downgrading these shorts from 5 stars to 3 stars. I have found that the padding in it is not as wide as the Izumi Select shorts, and as a result of the shorts extreme thickness, but not wide enough, it causes a crease in-between the back of your thigh and your butt cheek, which makes it irritated. I have gotten several irritation pimples on my thigh/butt crease because of the padding edges. Unless your hip joints are closer together, you will get this irritation. I started wearing my Izumi shorts again, solving this issue.

Better than Pearl Izumi Attack shorts.
I was blow away at how great these shorts are. I compared them to a $100 paid or Pearl Izumi biking pants and these were FAR better. The padding was way better, the material felt better, and they look great. I'm 6' & 215lbs and normally wear a Large but bought an XL in these from reading other reviews and that was def the right call so go one size up! If you are looking for a great quality, well padded biking shorts, these are it. I will be order another pair or two.

Size and quality are good.
Shorts fit well by sizing. I ordered a Medium and fit matches size. Seem to be good quality and good padding. Have only used once but happy with them.
