Kind of a pain and doesn't fit all generators, I had to use the one fitting with straight pipe and bought high temp screws to screw it in over my exhaust pipes and mlbought muffler sealer. I mounted the generator in a 20ft shipping container/connex and mounted the muffler through the wall.

Easy to assemble. Works well.

This is a good kit if you want to redirect the exhaust out of a home made generator cabinet. It comes with 3 different muffler adapters. Choose carefully which one to use. If you modify the muffler in a permanent way it may void the warranty of the generator. We had to return a new generator for a fuel system defect and they checked for modifications. We clamped an adapter on the muffler stub that was sticking out, instead of screwing the flange adapter on. That saved us. The parts are well enough made. It's made of stainless steel so no rust. The flex pipe is 1 inch short as others have said in reviews, so plan accordingly. The welding seems sufficient. If you are looking for a huge sound reduction, I think you will be disappointed. While it will reduce the sound a small bit, it's not a large reduction. It will sound less if the muffler isn't pointing directly towards you. Others than that much of the noise you hear from a generator is from the engine itself and not so much of the exhaust. As a final note. Be sure to direct the exhaust away from your house or any other living space. If you need to but can't turn the muffler itself, a 3" 90 degree exhaust pipe elbow fits the outside diameter of the muffler in this kit. That way it can be redirected. Also be careful of sharp edges.

It seems to do the job but the quality and fit is poor. I had to some customizing to make it fit my generator even though it is advertised as a direct fit.

This kit says on the website it comes with three adapters, the instructions included with the device say it comes with two adapters. The one i got only shipped with one adapter! after careful review this exhaust kit that says will fit ANY generator, Wont fit fit my Wen generator!!! I have noticed a large uptick in items that represent compatible, or verified fit, or guaranteed fit! There is too much inconsistent information to make a really good informed decision! I will return for refund and source locally!

Used it to silencer with a honda eu70is generator; with generator inside a soundproofed container housing, and extended this exhaust/silencer out to fit on top of box, alongside air ducting for the forced hot air venting the generator. It all works quite well as needed a v. quiet operation, and this cuts noise, enough to make the difference or be appreciated; nobody even notices its running now because theres very little noise, unless a few meters or right alongside and facing the outlet while its running hogh speed. 👍
