Fontaniniby Roman Inc., Camel with Saddle Blanket, 5" Animals Collection, Nativity Figure and Accessories, Hand Sculpted and Painted

I purchased the camel as a Christmas gift for my daughter, adding to the Fontanini set I assembled for her last year. At $35 it wasn’t what I’d call cheap (i think back fondly to the eighties when I took above mentioned daughter and her little brother to the local religious book store each year and purchased Fontanini figures for $5, and sheep and goats were only $3) but these days you have to spend more, and you get what you pay for—a durable nativity figure that is child friendly. My daughter sent me video of our 2 year old grandson playing with their Fontanini set. Everyone, including baby Jesus, was taking turns sliding down the roof of the stable. When he’s older he will rearrange the Shepards and angels and sheep and goats. When our kids were young I would walk by and find everyone had been crammed into the stable—as if they were expecting a thunderstorm, or lined up like they were waiting in line to ride Space Mountain at Disney. My own set is now 36 years old and in perfect condition. These newer figures are a slightly larger scale and more colorful. It’s a nice set and a good investment. I will definitely purchase more.

The Fontanini camel is my favorite of the Christmas collection. The attention to detail is perfect especially for the price. I bought this and a few more of the animals as gift for someone who had the basic Nativity Set and he was extremely happy with it.

I love the Fontanni nativity figures. For my godchildren, I give a new piece or two of the nativity for Christmas and sometimes on the anniversary of their baptism.

I gave two of these Fontanini pieces to a collector of this set. They loved it! After getting a few pieces it gets addicting so I hear. The village that my giftee had was enormous! I might start collecting these now. They are based out of my hometown as well which was pretty cool... not that that matters on a review... :P Quality was great! Recommend to anybody collecting.

My wife love these. Very realistic and durable. So I I've been buying her one or two for a pre Christmas gift for several years now.

...and I love it! Well proportioned and colors blend with my existing set. I’d deduct 1/2 a star for it’s slightly bent legs and lack of meticulous painting, but overall, it’s just what I was looking for!

This was a great addition to my 5 inch set. I thought the price was a bit high, but I expect this set to be around a long time. It is well made. The box was a bit crushed when it came but no harm to the camel.

Needed the three camels to finish my nativity, this was one, looks great. I now have a complete Fontanini nativity.
