The knife's handle (hilt) is definitely small. But for me, this is not a concern. I'll not be chopping nor cutting big fish with this knife. I'll be slicing and genteelly filleting already cleaned fishes at home. No need to sharpen this knife out of the box. It is already nicely sharpened. It cut bagels beautifully.If you want a big handle knife for filleting while fishing, get Dexter Dextreme 24914 Knife. I have this too. This is a 10" and Dexter does sell 7" and 8" too. Very comfortable handle but I had to re-sharpen as I like my knives very sharp.

Eins der besten Messer für die Küche, für Fisch oder Fleisch, im Notfall, auch für Gemüse. Sehr sehr, sehr scharf und schneidfreudig, aber auch kein Wunder bei diesem Stahl. Der Verkäufer hat das Messer bestens verpackt, sehr schnell geliefert. Ich bin mehr als zufrieden!

Knife is very very light and well balanced

I bought this knife as most of you with grandiose thoughts of it being perfect... is it? eh its a nice knife but I am not going to say it was worth the price.Pros:1. Fairly well balanced but I expected better (A larger handle would solve this Benchmade)2. Looks great3. Sheath is perfect4. Does the job and fillets salmon well, is the perfect length for 15 to 20 pound kings.Has held an edge better than my other fillet knives, its also brand new so time will tell after a few sharpening's.5. ALMOST the perfect flex... ALMOST.Cons:1. Handle is waayyy tooo small. I do not have freakishly large hands. This handle is the perfect size for a 14 year old.2. Not as sharp out of the box as I anticipated, my Dexter's with a quick sharpening will shave hair much better than this knife right out of the box. I am sure I can get it sharper I just wasn't that impressed.3. Am I buying a knife or Apple style packaging, I'd rather shave 20 bucks off the knife and get normal package, your selling these to fisherman, not techies.4. $$$$$$Bottom line for the cost I expected perfection, the knife you tell all your friends they must have. What I got is a solid knife but it barely outperforms my trusty 20 dollar Dexter Russell's. If this knife was 100 bucks I would buy it again but still think it was slightly too pricey. I think the next iterations will fix my issues.
