The Spirits’ Book: containing the principles of spiritist doctrine on the immortality of the soul, the nature of spirits and their relations with men - with an alphabetical index

This is a reprint of Anna Blackwell's translation from 1875. The font is relatively small, and the text is crammed into 400 pages with small margins. The drawing of a vine branch that should appear at the beginning of the "Prolegomena" chapter is not there, but the footnote that makes reference to it still is (referencing page 59, which I assume is the page where the drawing appeared on Blackwell's original edition), showing that this edition was put together somewhat haphazardly. Still worth it if you need a hardcopy of Blackwell's translation (which is in public domain, easily found on the net). The recent translation by Luchnos (green grapes on the cover) is the best choice if you want a text in modern English.

A very engrossing intro is as far as I have read. Having personally been dealing with metaphysics since child hood, this book intro has helped me realize I am not crazy. I am on a different path. Having personally made many mistakes in testing spirits this book also helped inform me I was getting better at it. I like the science approach to de mystify the fact that we in human form do not really get the spirit world around us and in us. Very powerful book.

If you have searched all your life for answers that made sense of why you are here, then read this book and you will be told straight from the Spirit's mouth. I purchased it recently, read speedily through it, and am now reading it again more slowly, savoring every question and answer! I read some paragraphs more than once because the messages are many and they are astounding! You will definitely feel different about yourself and other souls after this amazing read!

One of the best books I have ever read (and it’s saying a whole lot: I have read/studied 8 different versions of the Bible alone…).Have an open mind and follow reasoning, that’s the only way to read this book!

The book and its contents are great, I really enjoyed reading it. However it's full of spelling errors and was never proof read, it's like someone put it through google translate and then never bothered to double check it.
