The Baby Tree Hardcover – Picture Book, May 1, 2014

Exactly what we needed. Keeps the science at a minimum, and perfect for my kids. If you want something with a little more anatomy, this probably isn't the right book, but my kids are still young enough that the amount of information is perfect. It also has a page in the back that has a bunch of FAQ and gives helpful, age-appropriate answers for young kids. My 5 year-old son loves to laugh about the fact that the grandfather thinks babies come from storks!!! We will definitely need a more "advanced" book when they get a bit older, but perfect for now while my kids wait for their baby sister!

Is an excellent book however if your child can read the last page has maybe a little too many details than what you may would want your little reading. All tactfully written of course just not ready for mine to know this info.

I used this book to answer my kids questions about where babies come from. They are between the ages of 3 and 7. It's a cute story about a boy asking a lot of adults where babies come from. They all give him different answers (stork/eggs/babytree/hospital). He's very confused and asks his parents. They tell him that babies come from an egg from mom and a seed from dad and when the baby is ready, we go to the hospital. The boy is satisfied with the answer, but has to go break the news to Grandpa that babies aren't delivered by storks. Cute, funny and educational. We all like this book.

This is a very nicely written and illustrated book, but I think that the recommended age range of 5 - 8 is way off. I would have read this to my child at two and he would have loved it, but at six he is wanting much more detail about this topic than this simplistic book provides.

Ideal for those early questions regarding where babies come from. Can be used as a tool to build upon answers for children slightly older and with more questions or differing understandings. Beautiful illustrations make it a must buy!

Great intro to where babies come from. 4yr old Kiddo asks to read it again and again.

We recently told my 3 year old daughter that she will soon have a younger sibling. She seems to have struggled somewhat with even knowing what questions to ask, but I think this book really helped her out. She has wanted to read it every single night since we first picked it up.

When I read this book to my daughter (who had asked where babies come from), she got very frustrated because the book doesn't do a good job at all of explaining the facts (the most important facts are explained in the appendix, not in the story itself). Adults may find the book amusing because the child who wants to know "where do babies come from" is given vague answers again and again (by family members, the mailman, a teacher etc.), before his parents find the time to sit down and attempt an explanation, while a child who asks that question will most likely not find those loops entertaining.

This is a magical book - I saw it recommended on a blog (a cup of Jo) and had to get it.Such a sweet story; a five year old asks every grown up who he comes accross where babies come from and gets told a series of half truths and downright fibs. He imagines each idea, but ultimately gets very confused. His parents explain perfectly, in a way that my inquisitive three year old readily accepted without asking for any further details.Highly recommended!

Very sweet book with a clever twist that gently introduces how babies are made.

Beautifully illustrated and clear, accurate information dispelling myths as it goes along. My 4.5 year old and 2.5 year old both enjoyed it immensely
