This is the only cord I've purchased that hasn't been faulty for my 2019 Lexus UX250h. Great quality and the length is substantial as well. I haven't had any connectivity issues with it since I've purchased it (about a week), whereas most products I've purchased would have had issues with Carplay within a day.

I recently updated my iPhone 15 to the newest iOS 26 and to my disappointment found out that the new update is not compatible with the software on the media players in most modern vehicles, and won’t recognize your iPhone to use Apple CarPlay. I contacted and troubleshooted over the phone with Apple and Toyota customer service but no one was able to offer me a solution that rectified this issue. I tried using over 50 (literally) USB-C to USB cords that I have laying around the house, including a few apple certified cords, updated my phone, updated my software system in my car, downloaded an update on a junk drive and plugged it into my car’s USB, deleted my personal info from my car, disconnected my phone from my car and my car from my phone, connected to my car‘s Wi-Fi… Literally everything. My near breaking point was when both Apple and Toyota suggested I just “ get a new car”. In a random Reddit thread, I found that people mentioned using a data cable could possibly fix this issue. I ordered this pack of two data cables and it arrived in less than 24 hours. I plugged it into my car and into my phone and CarPlay came on almost immediately. I’m so happy I learned about this data cable. I came very close to letting the jokers at the dealership talk me into paying hundreds of dollars for them to manually update my media system or replace my USB port in my car. Sickening. If you’re experiencing similar issues with CarPlay not responding after updating your iPhone, I highly recommend you purchase this data cable and give it a try.

The generic cables (non-Apple MFi certified) kept glitching and stopped working with CarPlay in my vehicle. The first time I plugged this in, the remedy was resolved!!!!

These aren’t particularly fast charging, which is fine, but they are also not durable. I ordered a set of very similar ones that weren’t durable before this. Then I bought these because it was a different brand - unfortunately I think they were actually the same just selling under a different brand name now, because the packaging was identical. Similarly, one of these stopped working in mere weeks. I just opened the second one a few weeks ago, and now, while it charges, CarPlay no longer works with it. I truly hope it hasn’t internally messed with my phone or car USB Port. It’s cheap, but definitely not worth even a penny.

After having upgraded my iPhone to a later model, I had to change the Lightning connector on my car stereo for a USB-C one, but none of my existing cables worked for CarPlay as they don’t support data transmission, only power. This cable did the trick - I now have CarPlay working with my new phone. A minor gripe is that these don’t come in black, which would have been more aesthetically pleasing in the car, but that is just being picky - they do the job and are good value, especially for a pair of them.
