Collections Etc Indoor Quilted Window Air Conditioner Cover - Maintains Heat and Keeps Cold Air Out While Eliminating Dust Buildup, Small

Not sure if this should have been something ME as the consumer should have thought of before purchasing or the maker of this product should have thought of before they made it and clearly this picture was photoshopped or this cover is not really around an air conditioner but rather a BOX placed inside this open window for purposes of the picture b/c in actuality, any window unit air conditioner has a power cord coming out of the bottom corner which prevents this elastic-edged cover from staying on the front of the unit tightly and neatly. It actually prevents you from pulling your hair out trying to put it on without it flying off!!! It was truly a test of patience b/c of such a silly thing that again, you don't think of b/c you look at this picture of a misrepresentation of a true scenario rather than look at what a real air conditioner looks like in your window when you are making the purchase. What the manufacturer SHOULD do is cut out that slot so you CAN fit it around your (large in circumference) power cord, and then have the ability to Velcro strap right behind it to secure the cover tightly. then they would get five stars for ingenuity in design and true representation of product.

This product is as described. It has no lining & is thin but what sets it apart from other more expensive covers is the 4" depth. Most others including those at twice the price only come in 2 1/2" depth which in my opinion leaves a large gap where the air conditioner meets the wall where cold air can enter. While this product is thinner, it covers my air conditioner all the way around & flush with the wall. I simply taped some plastic to the face & covered it with this product & there is no air I can feel coming through. I ordered another one for my daughter.

Sized right. Could be thicker to keep cold out better.

I guess I thought "quilted" meant insulated. It is not. It is easy to put on and off, but will puff out when winds are 25 mph. So, does that mean it simply slows down the cold air from coming inside. Yeah, I think so.

The cover does exactly what I wanted it to do, reduce cold winter air coming into my apartment through the air conditioner. Functional while sacrificing 'looks'.

It needed a plastic sheet behind it to make sure it would be effective to keep out the cold.

Needs more insulation to be really effective but none of them have that

Serves purpose just fine. Edges not as crisp or fitted as in the photo, kind of looks like a floofy pillow on the wall. Inside surface was nicer (looked less like a mattress pad) so turned it inside out, and it looks ok. Doesn't keep ALL the cold out, but definitely helps.
