Buen producto

Right colour for my boat
Most of the rival offerings come in white. My narrowboat is pained dark green with some black decking, so a black box was a better choice. I used clear CT1 Sealant to stick the box to the roof of the narrowboat. This was easy to do because the edge of the black box is about 30mm. To install it I first drilled two holes through the roof of the engine room. I then threaded the 6mm cables through the black connectors and down through the holes. Once the cable was cut and attached to the solar controller, I added CT1 around the cable where it passed through the holes in the roof screwed the connectors to the black box and added glue to the bottom before placing the black box in position and put a weight on top of it. The next morning I screwed the connectors tight to the cable and removed the weight. The thickness of the edge of the back box means that the glue has been steadfast in holding the 6mm cable in place (which puts up some resistance to being bent through 90 deg). The black box has been on the roof for about two weeks during which there has been a lot of rain. No water had leaked into the engine room either through the edge of the box or along the cable. It will take a year of extreme weather conditions before I will have full confidence in the black box, but so far so good.
