Dude this is a totally awesome book. Like even if you're a semi professional drummer like me, you can totally benefit from the very first exercise which works a unique kind of coordination. He makes you verbally say the downbeat and play the exercise which is actually harder than it sounds. I know I was taught to tap my foot and play but honestly when you play it is not garanteed that you will play a limb just to keep time. So this makes you think extra hard, I know my time keeping improved tremendously. Because honestly as drummers when we get excited our tempo tends to rush cause the band is also excited. This book will teach you to counter that I maintain your focus. You know I play a lot of musicals and I always thought I had bad time because sometimes i would not be with the conductor. And I was constantly asking myself what I was doing wrong. And after doing half of the book I am actually able to know when people rush or drag, even slightly! Thats the power of the exercises. It will also teach you how to play whatever figure you want, whenever you want and maintian that time keeping focus. This probably the best book I can recommmend to any other paying drummer out there! A must buy.

As someone who is a beginner on drums -- I've been looking for good resources to get me started. An expert drummer friend recommended The Language of Drumming DVD and book and I'm very glad I bought it. Benny does a great job speaking in simple terms that anyone can understand and the DVD is entertaining. I like the material here because it can apply to any style of music. Highly recommend for experts and beginners alike.

Fantastic DVD and book for musicians of ANY instrument. Benny's exercises are extremely useful and logical and can easily be adopted to guitar, sax, keyboards or whatever you play. Time is perhaps the most critical element in playing music and this DVD will really help improve your accuracy.

Great book, DVD and CD at an incredible price. $25!!been using it for about 2 weeks and i can already feel the difference. his technique of internalizing the quarter note pulse has done wonders. BUY IT.

Un libro que se ha convertido en todo un clásico. Ver tocar a Benny siempre inspira y te hace ir a estudiar un buen rato.A mi la verdad que me ha gustado mucho mas el libro que el DVD, mucho mas instructivo, aunque los temas de DVD son para ver una y otra vez sin parar. Lo dicho, si no lo tienes ya tardas!
