Run by the grandson of the founder, Haflinger is known in many international markets for not only its boiled wool slippers and wool felt clogs, but more importantly for its outstanding quality and workmanship. In 1991 Gerda Hoehm began importing Haflinger into the U.S. and Canada and the company has since doubled and tripled sales from year to year--our footwear has been extremely well received in North America. Although the recipe for reliable footwear and superior wool has not changed since the early days of Haflinger, the line has evolved its product offering to include a range of styles--children's slippers and clogs, wool-felt cork-bottom clogs, hard- and soft-sole slippers, and our newest sandal and clog line, the Trend Collection. Whether you prefer the classic Grizzly clog, our breathable, comfortable boiled-wool slippers, or our fresh, new Trend styles, Haflinger footwear consistently treats your feet to the best!. This used to be the best woolen clog money could buy…
This used to be the best woolen clog money could buy… until Haflinger switched from a black rubber sole that apparently scuffed hard floors, to a beige rubberized plastic one. I didn’t mind the black rubber soled version, but recently I bought my 5th pair (over 8-9 years) and wound up w. the beige sole. The clogs worked out well until the heel and toe sole areas got ‘polished’ by walking on our carpets and are now so slick that they’re unsafe to wear in the house. No grip whatsoever! These clogs would be great for rough back country trails, but when they get slicked up by household carpet use (I mean they’re intended to be slippers, right?) they become hazardous. I wish I could return them, but think it’s too late now. So I’m writing this to warn others. If I buy another pair, they'd need to be the black, rubber soled version.>>> As you can see in the attached photo, the soles are highly polished by normal use. If they weren't so slick, they'd last years more, but now I need to buy something else.

Changes in production location have caused changes to how these fit. They are not the same as the clogs of years past
I Loved these clogs and have been wearing them for a decade. But Haflinger now is making these in several factories and in several eastern European countries. The fit is inconsistent from one production location to another. I had to return these and pay full price in a specialty retail store where I could try on several pairs from until I found a pair that fit.You will find other reviews that go into detail about this, but the net is that if you have been wearing size X for the last 10 years and order a new pair it will not fit like the last several pairs you bought.

Cute but cheaply made
These are NOT like the ones you buy IN Germany! These are SO cheap in comparison, how can these have the Harlingen name! My first pair were the black ones. I LOVED them, perfect fit, looked great, went and bought 2 more pair..big mistake. Bought my first pair in February and then in July noticed the glue was starting to detach! These are OVER $100 pair of shoes, this shouldn’t be happening 5 months after purchase. I never RAN in them, not even SQUATTED down in them to not cause that separation cause cork doesn’t bend. I even bought cork moisturizer as I live in hotter climate..didn’t even get a chance to use that as they’re only 5 months old! The other 2 are still holding but I feel it’s only because I favored the black ones. Your call, you’ve been warned.

Nothing like Haflingers used to be
This is my fourth pair of Grizzly Clogs. The first three were perfect and identical one to the next. This pair has several differences and is not up to previous quality. The sole is lumpy and uneven instead of the uniform platform of previous pairs. Also it feels less stable and something like the sole of a pair of cheap trainers. The instep, instead of having a gentle and comfortable arch that fits the arch of the foot nicely, has a ridge that is too narrow front to back and does not support a normal arch making it uncomfortable. The heel now has an angled section - if you want to introduce something that approximates how a heel wears a uniform curve would be more natural and more comfortable. This pair was made in Poland now instead of Germany as before. Whether the reason for these changes from previous design and manufacture belongs in Germany or Poland I don't know, but I am sad to see such a wonderful clog end up this way.

Falling apart Already.
I got these last March 2018, don't really wear them that often, I find that they are a little too warm for my feet. The cork is cracking and the sole is coming off the bottom of the left slipper and the right is starting to peel as well. Not impressed at all with this footwear, especially for the amount of money they cost these should not be falling apart so badly given that they aren't worn that much. Customer service had nothing good to say either, after 6 months they don’t care if their is a problem with their products.

Comfort city!
Size DOWN people! The description says a 39 is an 8, but I find that too large. I think of my feet as at a 7 and 3/4s, so I got a 38 which they call a 7, and they fit perfectly, with even a little room to that size. I use these as house slippers, as I have gone through two pairs Haflinger women's slippers, and while super comfy, they actually get holes and flattened and misshapen after a year or two. I think slippers should last longer than that, so I upgraded to these and have not been disappointed. Of course I'd like to wear them outside, but they are so perfect indoors, I doubt I will.A note on the Earth color of these: I had planned to buy a second pair when I saw the price go down, but the decorative ribbon around the edge was stitched crookedly on them. I sent them back for a replacement , and even the replacement had the same issue. But the grey pair I bought first are perfectly stitched on the edge.

New and Not Improved
The description of these clogs on the home page lists them as "HAFLINGER Unisex GZ Clogs, which are apparently intended to fit 38 EU/Women's 7M US and/or Men's 5(D) US. I have a pair of these clogs from back in the day when Women's Clogs and Men's Clogs were two different items, and I loved them. Sadly, these new and (not) improved clogs are wide and provide a sloppy fit, even with fairly bulky socks. I am returning them for a size smaller, although I am not particularly hopeful that this will take care of the problem, since the challenge is the width of the slipper, not the length.

Just meh.
I hate to sound terrible, people have been extolling the virtues of this shoe forever. I finally bought a pair to use as house shoes. They are just okay. I have been dealing with plantar fasciitis/tendinitis for over 10 years now, and I think I need more cushion in the sole. Not the company’s fault, but this is like waking in a bare floor, I just don’t get it. Super uncomfortable. I bought the correct size for my size 7 Women’s feet, but they are very loose and fall off when going up the stairs. Meh. Would never buy again. This gal needs cushion, I guess!

Comfiest house shoes ever
This must be my fifth pair of halflingers clogs. I wear them as house shoes. They are very easy to slip on and off, give much more support than traditional slippers, are not as high as traditional clogs and don't mind if I nip outside to get the washing in. My only (slight) criticism is that they cannot be repaired, so have to be replaced once the heel wears down to the cork. Wearing them for hours every day, especially this year, a pair last me about a year.

Perfect indoor shoe; great for feet.
I wear Haflinger clogs ALL of the time at home - so helpful for plantar fasciitis. I try other types of Haflingers, but always come back to this one. It fits me more snuggly than some of the other styles. I won't try the others in the future, and will stick with these.

Highly recommended product
I am size 5 and they fit perfectly. They are very warm and stay on well. The cork sole gives the clog structure and they hold their shape well. I have wooden floors in my home and the sole is perfect - non slip and I have even been in the garden with them and the nature of the sole copes with that fine. I love this clog - it might seem pricey but they are well worth it. An excellent quality product. I expect these clogs which I use for slippers will last for a very long time.

Present for a friend
Bought these for a friend who had recently had an operation so struggled with shoes and slippers. So impressed is he that they are already on the christmas list for his friends. So comfortable to wear. I'm on my 3rd pair. Really helped with my plantar fasciitis.
