Yes you can switch between lbs and kg, the instructions are different based on the version of firmware. Has AWS modified the SR-5 so the hold feature can be disabled?

According to a comment on a review below you can disable the hold feature. Open the battery compartment and there is an on/off switch. Flip the switch and it disables the hold function. Hope that helps, but I did not give the answer..sara pap did.

Does this stop weighing after a few seconds, meaning can't add more it to get a certain weight?

The SR-5 Digital Hanging Scale features two operating modes: Basic and Advanced. To change the operating mode, flip the toggle switch inside the battery compartment up or down. In Basic Mode, the weight locks on the display when stable and the scale turns off after 60 seconds of inactivity. In Advanced Mode, the weight does not lock when stable and the scale will remain on until powered off manually

does this scale read in 1g increments?
